وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19195
Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the condition that I would listen to and obey him. However, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made me add the phrase "to the best of my ability" and also made it a condition that I should wish well for every Muslim.

حضرت جریر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے بات سننے اور ماننے کی شرط پر بیعت کی تھی لیکن نبی کریم ﷺ نے مجھے اس جملے کی تلقین کی " حسب استطاعت " نیزہر مسلمان کی خیرخواہی کی شرط بھی لگائی۔
Hazrat Jarir Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se baat sunne aur manne ki shart par bai't ki thi lekin Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe is jumle ki talqeen ki "Hasb-e- Ista'at" niz har Musalman ki khairkhwahi ki shart bhi lagai.
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ: حدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَ: بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ، قَالَ: فَلَقَّنِّني، فَقَالَ: " فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ" وَالنُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ .
