Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19279
Atiya Aufi says that once I went to Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) and submitted to him that a son-in-law of mine narrated to me a tradition regarding the event of Ghadir Khum about the status of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on your authority. I want to hear it directly from you. He said, "O people of Iraq! I fear for you." I submitted, "Don't worry about me." He said, "Alright. Once we were in the place of Juhfa. At the time of Zuhr prayer, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), holding the hand of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), came to us and said, 'O people! Don't you know that I have more right over the Muslims than their own selves?' The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, 'Why not?' Then, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), pressing the hand of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), said, 'Whoever I am beloved to, Ali is also beloved to him.' I submitted, "Did Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) also say, 'O Allah! Love the one who loves Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and be hostile to the one who is hostile to him?'" He said, "I have told you what I heard."

عطیہ عوفی کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں حضرت زید بن ارقم رضی اللہ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور ان سے عرض کیا کہ میرے ایک دامادنے حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کی شان میں غدیرخم کے موقع کی حدیث آپ کے حوالے سے میرے سامنے بیان کی ہے، میں چاہتا ہوں کہ براہ راست آپ سے اس کی سماعت کروں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا اے اہل عراق! مجھے تم سے اندیشہ ہے میں نے عرض کیا کہ میری طرف سے آپ بےفکر رہیں انہوں نے کہا اچھا ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ مقام جحفہ میں تھے کہ ظہر کے وقت نبی کریم ﷺ حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کا ہاتھ پکڑے ہوئے ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے اور فرمایا لوگو! کیا تم لوگ نہیں جانتے کہ مجھے مسلمانوں پر ان کی اپنی جانوں سے بھی زیادہ حق حاصل ہے؟ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا کیوں نہیں، پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کا ہاتھ دبا کر فرمایا جس کا میں محبوب ہوں علی بھی اس کے محبوب ہونے چاہئیں میں نے عرض کیا کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے یہ فرمایا تھا اے اللہ! جو علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے محبت کرتا ہے تو اس سے محبت فرما اور جو اس سے دشمنی کرتا ہے تو اس سے دشمنی فرما؟ انہوں نے فرمایا میں نے جو سنا تھا وہ تمہیں بتادیا۔
Atiya Aufi kehte hain ke ek martaba main Hazrat Zaid bin Arqam (RA) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur un se arz kiya ke mere ek damad ne Hazrat Ali (RA) ki shan mein Ghadir Khum ke mauqe ki hadees aap ke hawale se mere samne bayan ki hai, main chahta hun ke baraah e raast aap se is ki samaat karun? Unhon ne farmaya ae ahl e Iraq! Mujhe tum se andesha hai main ne arz kiya ke meri taraf se aap befikar rahein unhon ne kaha acha ek martaba hum log Maqam e Jahfa mein the ke zohar ke waqt Nabi Kareem (SAW) Hazrat Ali (RA) ka hath pakre hue humare paas tashreef laaye aur farmaya lo! Kya tum log nahin jante ke mujhe musalmanon par un ki apni jaanon se bhi zyada haq hasil hai? Sahaba karam (RA) ne arz kiya kyun nahin, phir Nabi Kareem (SAW) ne Hazrat Ali (RA) ka hath daba kar farmaya jis ka main mehboob hun Ali bhi us ke mehboob hone chahiyen main ne arz kiya ke Nabi Kareem (SAW) ne yeh farmaya tha ae Allah! Jo Ali (RA) se mohabbat karta hai to us se mohabbat farma aur jo us se dushmani karta hai to us se dushmani farma? Unhon ne farmaya main ne jo suna tha wo tumhen bata diya.
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: إِنَّ خَتَنًا لِي حَدَّثَنِي عَنْكَ بِحَدِيثٍ فِي شَأْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ غَدِيرِ خُمٍّ، فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَهُ مِنْكَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّكُمْ مَعْشَرَ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ فِيكُمْ مَا فِيكُمْ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ مِنِّي بَأْسٌ، فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، كُنَّا بِالْجُحْفَةِ، فَخَرْجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْنَا ظُهْرًا، وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِعَضُدِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، فَقَالَ:" أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: فَمَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ، فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ"، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: هَلْ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُ، وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ؟ قَالَ: إِنَّمَا أُخْبِرُكَ كَمَا سَمِعْتُ .
