Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19811
Sayyar Abu Manhal said: I went once with my father to Abu Barzah al-Aslami and my father said: Tell us how the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offered the prescribed prayers. He said: He (ﷺ) used to offer the noon prayer when the sun declined; he (ﷺ) offered the afternoon prayer when one of us could return to his family in Medina, the sun being still high; I have forgotten what he said about the sunset prayer. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) loved to delay the evening prayer if he did not dislike the idea that it should cause inconvenience to his family; and he (ﷺ) disliked to sleep before it and to talk after it. He (ﷺ) observed the morning prayer and finished it by the time it became easy to recognize a man sitting beside him and he (ﷺ) recited in it sixty to a hundred verses.

سیار ابومنہال کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں اپنے والد کے ساتھ حضرت ابوبرزہ اسلمی رضی اللہ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا، میرے والد نے ان سے عرض کیا کہ یہ بتائیے، نبی ﷺ فرض نماز کس طرح پڑھتے تھے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نماز ظہر اس وقت پڑھتے تھے جب سورج ڈھل جاتا تھا، عصر کی نماز اس وقت پڑھتے تھے کہ جب ہم میں سے کوئی شخص مدینہ میں اپنے گھر واپس پہنچتا تو سورج نظر آ رہا ہوتا تھا، مغرب کے متعلق انہوں نے جو فرمایا وہ میں بھول گیا اور نبی ﷺ عشاء کو مؤخر کرنے کو پسند فرماتے تھے، نیز اس سے پہلے سونا اور اس کے بعد باتیں کرنا پسند نہیں فرماتے تھے اور فجر کی نماز پڑھ کر اس وقت فارغ ہوتے جب ہم اپنے ساتھ بیٹھے ہوئے شخص کو پہچان سکتے تھے اور اس میں ساٹھ سے لے کر سو آیات تک تلاوت فرماتے تھے۔
Sayyar AbuManhal kehte hain ke ek martaba main apne wald ke sath Hazrat AbuBurza Aslami (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ki khidmat mein hazir hua, mere wald ne unse arz kiya ke yeh bataiye, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) farz namaz kis tarah parhte the? Unhon ne farmaya ke namaz zuhar us waqt parhte the jab suraj dhal jata tha, asr ki namaz us waqt parhte the ke jab hum mein se koi shakhs Madina mein apne ghar wapas pahunchta to suraj nazar aa raha hota tha, maghrib ke mutalliq unhon ne jo farmaya woh main bhul gaya aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) isha ko mukhar karne ko pasand farmate the, neez is se pehle sona aur is ke baad baaten karna pasand nahin farmate the aur fajr ki namaz parh kar us waqt farigh hote jab hum apne sath baithe huye shakhs ko pehchan sakte the aur is mein saath se le kar sau ayat tak tilawat farmate the.
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَيَّارِ بْنِ سَلَامَةَ ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَأَبِي عَلَى أَبِي بَرْزَةَ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ:" كَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ حِينَ تَزُولُ الشَّمْسُ، وَالْعَصْرَ يَرْجِعُ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَالشَّمْسُ حَيَّةٌ , وَالْمَغْرِبَ , قَالَ سَيَّارٌ: نَسِيتُهَا , وَالْعِشَاءَ لَا يُبَالِي بَعْدَ تَأْخِيرِهَا إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ، وَكَانَ لَا يُحِبُّ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَهَا وَالْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا، وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي الصُّبْحَ فَيَنْصَرِفُ الرَّجُلُ فَيَعْرِفُ وَجْهَ جَلِيسِهِ، وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِيهمَا مَا بَيْنَ السِّتِّينَ إِلَى المِائةِ , قَالَ سَيَّارٌ: لَا أَدْرِي فِي إِحْدَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ أَوْ فِي كِلْتَيْهِمَا" .
