Hadith of 'Imran ibn Husain (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19907
It is narrated on the authority of Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the verse of Hajj-e-Tamattu was revealed in the Quran, and we acted upon it along with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not forbid it until his death, nor was any verse revealed in the Quran prohibiting it.

حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ حج تمتع کی آیت قرآن میں نازل ہوئی ہے، ہم نے نبی ﷺ کی معیت میں اس پر عمل کیا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے وصال تک اس سے منع نہیں فرمایا: اور نہ ہی اس حوالے سے اس کی حرمت کا قرآن میں کوئی حکم نازل ہوا۔
Hazrat Imran bin Husain razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki Hajj Tamattu ki ayat Quran mein nazil hui hai, hum ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki maiyyat mein is par amal kiya hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne wisal tak is se mana nahi farmaya: aur na hi is hawale se is ki hurmat ka Quran mein koi hukm nazil hua.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ الْقَصِيرُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ: " نَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْمُتْعَةِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ، وَعَمِلْنَا بِهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمْ تَنْزِلْ آيَةٌ تَنْسَخُهَا، وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى مَاتَ" .
