The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2037
Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever leaves the snakes alone out of fear that they will turn around and chase us is not one of us. We have not made peace with them since we first declared war on them."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”جو شخص سانپوں کو اس ڈر سے چھوڑ دے کہ وہ پلٹ کر ہمارا پیچھا کریں گے تو وہ ہم میں سے نہیں ہے، ہم نے جب سے ان کے ساتھ جنگ شروع کی ہے، اس وقت سے اب تک ان کے ساتھ صلح نہیں کی۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: ”Jo shakhs sanpon ko is dar se chhor de ki woh palat kar hamara peecha karenge to woh hum mein se nahi hai, hum ne jab se in ke sath jang shuru ki hai, us waqt se ab tak in ke sath sulah nahi ki.“
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الطَّحَّانُ الصَّغِيرُ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ يَرْفَعُ الْحَدِيثَ فِيمَا أُرَى إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَنْ تَرَكَ الْحَيَّاتِ مَخَافَةَ طَلَبِهِنَّ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا مَا سَالَمْنَاهُنَّ مُنْذُ حَارَبْنَاهُنَّ".
