The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2036
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “O people! What day is this?” The people replied, “The sacred day.” He asked again, “What city is this?” The people replied, “The sacred city.” He asked again, “What month is this?” The people replied, “The sacred month.” He said, “Remember! Your wealth, your lives, and your honor are as sacred to one another as the sanctity of this day, this sacred city, and this sacred month.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) repeated this several times, then he raised his blessed head towards the sky and said many times, “O Allah! Have I conveyed the message?” Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “By Allah! This was a firm covenant with Allah.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Let those who are present convey this message to those who are absent. Do not become disbelievers after me by taking each other’s lives.”

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر فرما: ”لوگو! یہ کون سا دن ہے؟“ لوگوں نے کہا کہ حرمت والا دن، پھر پوچھا کہ ”یہ کون سا شہر ہے؟“ لوگوں نے عرض کیا: حرمت والا شہر، پھر پوچھا کہ ”یہ مہینہ کون سا ہے؟“ لوگوں نے عرض کیا: حرمت والا مہینہ، فرمایا: ”یاد رکھو! تمہارا مال و دولت، تمہاری جان اور تمہاری عزت ایک دوسرے کے لئے اسی طرح قابل احترام ہے جیسے اس دن کی حرمت، اس حرمت والے شہر اور اس حرمت والے مہینے میں“، اس بات کو نبی ﷺ نے کئی مرتبہ دہرایا، پھر اپنا سر مبارک آسمان کی طرف بلند کر کے کئی مرتبہ فرمایا کہ ”اے اللہ! کیا میں نے پہنچا دیا؟“ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ واللہ! یہ ایک مضبوطی تھی پروردگار کی طرف، پھر نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”یاد رکھو جو موجود ہے، وہ غائب تک یہ پیغام پہنچا دے، میرے بعد کافر نہ ہو جانا کہ ایک دوسرے کی گردنیں مارنے لگو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Hajjatal Wida ke mauke par farmaya: "Logo! Yeh kaun sa din hai?" Logon ne kaha ki hurmat wala din, phir poocha ki "Yeh kaun sa shehar hai?" Logon ne arz kiya: Hurmat wala shehar, phir poocha ki "Yeh mahina kaun sa hai?" Logon ne arz kiya: Hurmat wala mahina, farmaya: "Yaad rakho! Tumhara maal o daulat, tumhari jaan aur tumhari izzat ek doosre ke liye isi tarah qabil ehtaram hai jaise is din ki hurmat, is hurmat wale shehar aur is hurmat wale mahine mein", is baat ko Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kai martaba dohraaya, phir apna sar mubarak aasman ki taraf buland kar ke kai martaba farmaya ki "Aye Allah! Kya maine pohancha diya?" Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain ki wallah! Yeh ek mazbooti thi parvardigaar ki taraf, phir Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Yaad rakho jo maujood hai, woh ghaib tak yeh paigham pohancha de, mere baad kafir na ho jana ki ek doosre ki gardanein marne lago."
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ غَزْوَانَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ:" يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا؟" , قَالُوا: هَذَا يَوْمٌ حَرَامٌ، قَالَ: أَيُّ بَلَدٍ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: بَلَدٌ حَرَامٌ، قَالَ:" فَأَيُّ شَهْرٍ هَذَا؟" , قَالُوا: شَهْرٌ حَرَامٌ، قَالَ:" إِنَّ أَمْوَالَكُمْ وَدِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَعْرَاضَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا، ثُمَّ أَعَادَهَا مِرَارًا، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ مِرَارًا" , قَالَ: يَقُولُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: وَاللَّهِ إِنَّهَا لَوَصِيَّةٌ إِلَى رَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" أَلَا فَلْيُبَلِّغْ الشَّاهِدُ الْغَائِبَ لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ".
