Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20636
It is narrated by a companion that once I was in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when a man came and addressed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "Are you the Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Yes." He asked, "What do you invite to?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I invite to Allah, Who is One. Tell me, who is He Who removes your distress when it befalls you? Who is He Who makes the produce to grow when you suffer from drought and supplicate to Him? Who is He Who guides you back when you lose your way in a deserted jungle and call upon Him?" Hearing this, he embraced Islam and said, "O Messenger of Allah, advise me something." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Do not abuse anyone." He says, "Since the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised me, I have not abused even a camel or a goat, and do not show reluctance in doing good, even if it is just meeting your brother with a cheerful face, giving water to the one who asks for it from your bucket, and wearing your lower garment below your ankles. If you cannot do that, then wear it up to the ankles, but avoid letting it hang down, because that is arrogance, and Allah does not like arrogance."

ایک صحابی سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر تھا کہ ایک آدمی آیا اور نبی ﷺ کو مخاطب کرکے کہنے لگا کیا آپ ہی اللہ کے پیغمبر ہیں نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا ہاں اس نے پوچھا کہ آپ کن چیزوں کی دعوت دیتے ہیں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا میں اللہ کی طرف دعوت دیتا ہوں جو یکتا ہے یہ بتاؤ کہ وہ کون سی ہستی ہے کہ جب تم پر کوئی مصیبت آتی ہے تو وہ تمہاری مصیبت دور کردیتی ہے؟ وہ کون ہے جب تم قحط سالی میں مبتلا ہوتے ہو اور اس سے دعاء کرتے ہو تو وہ پیداوار کو ظاہر کردیتا ہے؟ وہ کون ہے کہ جب تم کسی بیابان جنگل میں راستہ بھول جاؤ اور اس سے دعاء کرو وہ تمہیں واپس پہنچا دیتا ہے؟ یہ سن کر وہ مسلمان ہوگیا اور کہنے لگا یارسول اللہ مجھے کوئی وصیت کیجئے نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کسی کو گالی نہ دینا وہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس کے بعد سے میں نے کسی اونٹ یا بکری تک کو گالی نہیں دی جب سے نبی ﷺ نے مجھے وصیت فرمائی ہے اور نیکی سے بےرغبتی ظاہر نہ کرنا اگرچہ وہ بات کرتے ہوئے اپنے بھائی سے خندہ پیشانی سے ملنا ہی ہو پانی مانگنے والے کے برتن میں اپنے ڈول سے پانی دینا اور تہبند نصف پنڈلی تک باندھنا اگر یہ نہیں کرسکتے تو ٹخنوں تک باندھ لینا لیکن تہبند کو لٹکنے سے بچانا کیونکہ یہ تکبر ہے اور اللہ کو تکبر پسند نہیں ہے۔
aik sahabi se marvi hai ki aik martaba main nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir tha ki aik aadmi aaya aur nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko mukhatib karke kahne laga kya aap hi allah ke paighambar hain nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya haan usne poocha ki aap kin cheezon ki dawat dete hain nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya main allah ki taraf dawat deta hoon jo yakta hai yeh batao ki woh kon si hasti hai ki jab tum par koi musibat aati hai to woh tumhari musibat door kar deti hai woh kon hai jab tum qehat saali mein mubtala hote ho aur us se dua karte ho to woh paidaawar ko zahir karta hai woh kon hai ki jab tum kisi bayaban jungle mein rasta bhool jao aur us se dua karo woh tumhen wapas pohancha deta hai yeh sun kar woh musalman hogaya aur kahne laga ya rasul allah mujhe koi wasiyat kijiye nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya kisi ko gaali na dena woh kahte hain ki uske baad se maine kisi unt ya bakri tak ko gaali nahin di jab se nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe wasiyat farmai hai aur neki se bay raghbati zahir na karna agarche woh baat karte huye apne bhai se khunda peshani se milna hi ho pani mangne wale ke bartan mein apne dol se pani dena aur tahband nisf pindli tak bandhna agar yeh nahin kar sakte to takhnon tak bandh lena lekin tahband ko latkane se bachana kyonki yeh takabbur hai aur allah ko takabbur pasand nahin hai
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَاهُ وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمَةَ الْهُجَيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَلْهُجَيْمٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِلَامَ تَدْعُو؟ قَالَ:" أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ، الَّذِي إِنْ مَسَّكَ ضُرٌّ فَدَعَوْتَهُ، كَشَفَ عَنْكَ، وَالَّذِي إِنْ ضَلَلْتَ بِأَرْضٍ قَفْرٍ فَدَعَوْتَهُ، رَدَّ عَلَيْكَ، وَالَّذِي إِنْ أَصَابَتْكَ سَنَةٌ فَدَعَوْتَهُ، أَنْبَتَ عَلَيْكَ"، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: فَأَوْصِنِي، قَالَ: " لَا تَسُبَّنَّ أَحَدًا، وَلَا تَزْهَدَنَّ فِي الْمَعْرُوفِ، وَلَوْ أَنْ تَلْقَى أَخَاكَ وَأَنْتَ مُنْبَسِطٌ إِلَيْهِ وَجْهُكَ، وَلَوْ أَنْ تُفْرِغَ مِنْ دَلْوِكَ فِي إِنَاءِ الْمُسْتَسْقِي، وَائْتَزِرْ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ، فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَإِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ، وَإِيَّاكَ وَإِسْبَالَ الْإِزَارِ، فَإِنَّ إِسْبَالَ الْإِزَارِ مِنَ الْمَخِيلَةِ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمَخِيلَةَ" .
