Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20798
Umm Atiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I was among the women who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Among the conditions that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stipulated for us at the time of the pledge was that we would not wail (in mourning) and we would not speak to any non-mahram man without a barrier.

حضرت ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتی ہیں کہ میں نبی ﷺ سے بیعت کرنے والیوں میں شامل تھی نبی ﷺ نے ہم سے بیعت لیتے وقت جو شرائط لگائی تھی ان میں سے ایک شرط یہ بھی تھی کہ تم نوحہ نہیں کروگی اور محرم کے بغیر کسی مرد سے بات نہیں کروگی۔
Hazrat Umme Atiya raziallahu anha kehti hain ke mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se baiat karne waliyon mein shamil thi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hum se baiat lete waqt jo sharait lagai thi un mein se ek shart ye bhi thi ke tum nouha nahi karogi aur mehram ke baghair kisi mard se baat nahi karogi.
حَدَّثَنَا غَسَّانُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ، قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ بَايَعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكَانَ فِيمَا أَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا" أَنْ لَا نَنُوحَ، وَلَا نُحَدِّثَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ إِلَّا مَحْرَمًا" .
