Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20804
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Mu'adh-dhin (call to prayer) of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would finish the Adhan, he would pause for a while and not say the Iqamah (second call to prayer) until he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) coming out. When he would see that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had come out, he would then start the Iqamah.

حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کا مؤذن جب اذان دیتا ہے تو کچھ دیر رک جاتا اور اس وقت اقامت نہ کہتا جب تک نبی ﷺ کو باہر نکلتے ہوئے نہ دیکھ لیتا تو جب وہ دیکھتا کہ نبی ﷺ باہر نکل آئے تو وہ اقامت شروع کردیتا۔
Hazrat Jabar raziallahu anhu se marvi hai ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka moazzin jab azan deta hai to kuch der ruk jata aur us waqt iqamat na kehta jab tak Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko bahar nikalte huye na dekh leta to jab wo dekhta ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bahar nikal aaye to wo iqamat shuru karta.
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سِمَاكٌ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ:" كَانَ مُؤَذِّنُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُؤَذِّنُ، ثُمَّ يُمْهِلُ، فَلَا يُقِيمُ حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ خَرَجَ، أَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ حِينَ يَرَاهُ" .
