The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2093
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some camels came to Madinah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) bought a camel from them. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made a profit of a few ounces of silver on it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) distributed that profit among the widows of the Banu Abdul-Muttalib and said, "I do not buy a thing whose price I do not possess."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ مدینہ منورہ میں کچھ اونٹ آئے، نبی ﷺ نے ان میں سے کوئی اونٹ خرید لیا، اس پر نبی ﷺ کو چند اوقیہ چاندی کا منافع ہوا، نبی ﷺ نے وہ منافع بنو عبدالمطلب کی بیوہ عورتوں پر تقسیم فرما دیا اور فرمایا کہ ”میں ایسی چیز نہیں خریدتا جس کی قیمت میرے پاس نہ ہو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai ki ek martaba Madina Munawwara mein kuch unt aaye, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un mein se koi unt kharid liya, iss par Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko chand auqiya chandi ka munafa hua, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne woh munafa Banu Abdul Muttalib ki bewa auraton par taqsim farma diya aur farmaya ki “main aisi cheez nahin kharidta jiss ki qeemat mere pass na ho.”
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قَدِمَتْ عِيرٌ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَاشْتَرَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا فَرَبِحَ أَوَاقِيَّ، فَقَسَمَهَا فِي أَرَامِلِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، وَقَالَ:" لَا أَشْتَرِي شَيْئًا لَيْسَ عِنْدِي ثَمَنُهُ".
