The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2098
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If you differ concerning (the measurement of) a path, then make it seven cubits, and if a man builds a building, then let him erect a pillar with his neighbor’s wood (so that his building will not collapse).”

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”جب راستے (کی پیمائش) میں تمہارا اختلاف رائے ہو جائے تو اسے سات گز بنا لیا کرو، اور جو شخص کوئی عمارت بنائے اسے چاہئے کہ اپنے پڑوسی کی لکڑی کے ساتھ ستون بنا لے (تاکہ اس کی عمارت نہ گر سکے)۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: ”Jab raste (ki pemaish) mein tumhara ikhtilaf rae ho jaye to use sat gaz bana liya karo, aur jo shakhs koi imarat banaye use chahiye ki apne padosi ki lakdi ke sath sutun bana le (taki us ki imarat na gir sake)“.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِذَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ، فَاجْعَلُوهُ سَبْعَ أَذْرُعٍ، وَمَنْ بَنَى بِنَاءً، فَلْيَدْعَمْهُ حَائِطَ جَارِهِ".
