The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2099
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) departed from the plain of 'Arafat, a group of people began to race ahead. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Go slowly, for there is no good in racing horses and mounts." Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "After that, I did not see any rider raising their hand (to speed up) until we reached Muzdalifah."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ جب نبی ﷺ عرفہ کے میدان سے واپس روانہ ہوئے تو لوگوں کا ایک گروہ تیز رفتاری سے آگے بڑھنے لگا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”سکون سے چلو، گھوڑے اور سواریاں تیز دوڑانا کوئی نیکی نہیں ہے“، ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ پھر میں نے اپنے ہاتھ بڑھانے والی کسی سواری کو تیزی سے آگے بڑھتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا یہاں تک کہ ہم مزدلفہ پہنچ گئے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Arafah ke maidan se wapas rawana huye to logon ka ek gorah tez raftari se aage badhne laga, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Sukoon se chalo, ghore aur sawariyan tez dorana koi neki nahi hai", Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ki phir maine apne hath badhane wali kisi sawari ko tezise aage badhte huye nahi dekha yahan tak ki hum Muzdalifah pahunch gaye.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا أَفَاضَ مِنْ عَرَفَةَ، تَسَارَعَ قَوْمٌ، فَقَالَ: أو فنودوا:" لَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِإِيضَاعِ الْخَيْلِ وَلَا الرِّكَابِ" , قَالَ: فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَافِعَةً يَدَهَا تَعْدُو، حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا جَمْعًا.
