Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20997
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the mu'azzin (call to prayer) of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would give the 'adhan (call to prayer), he would pause for a while and would not say the 'iqamah (second call to prayer) until he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) come out. When he would see that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had come out, then he would start the 'iqamah.

حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کا مؤذن جب اذان دیتا تو کچھ دیر رک جاتا اور اس وقت تک اقامت نہ کہتا جب تک نبی ﷺ کو باہر نکلتے ہوئے نہ دیکھ لیتا جب وہ دیکھتا کہ نبی ﷺ باہر نکل آئے ہیں تو وہ اقامت شروع کردیتا۔
Hazrat Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka muazzin jab azan deta to kuch dair ruk jata aur us waqt tak iqamat na kehta jab tak Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko bahar nikalte hue na dekh leta jab wo dekhta ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bahar nikal aaye hain to wo iqamat shuru karta.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ:" كَانَ مُؤَذِّنُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُؤَذِّنُ ثُمَّ يُمْهِلُ حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَى نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ خَرَجَ، أَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ حِينَ يَرَاهُ" .
