Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21303
A man from Bani Aamir (that man is Abu Al-Mahlab Khurmi) said that he was a disbeliever and Allah guided him to Islam. There was no water in his area. His wife was with him, due to which sometimes he used to become sexually impure. The importance of finding a solution to this issue settled in his heart. Someone told him the address of Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him). He set out for Hajj and when he entered Masjid Mina, he recognized Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him). He was old, he was sweating, and he was wearing a woolen garment. He went and stood in front of him. He was offering prayer. He greeted him, but he did not respond. After completing the prayer properly, he responded to his greeting. He asked him, "Are you Abu Dharr?" He said, "That's what my family thinks." Then he told him his story. He said, "Do you know Abu Dharr?" He said, "Yes!" He said, "The climate of Medina did not suit me," or he said, "I got a stomach ailment. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered me to drink the milk of some camels and goats." Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he used to live far away from water. His family was also with him. When he needed to perform Ghusl (ritual bath), he would offer prayer without purification. Once when he was in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), it was afternoon and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting in the shade of the mosque with some of his companions. He said, "O Messenger of Allah! I am ruined." He said, "What happened?" He said, "O Messenger of Allah! I was far away from water, and my wife was with me. When I needed Ghusl, I used to offer prayer without performing Ghusl." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered to bring water for him. So, a black slave girl brought water for him in a large bowl. The water in the bowl was shaking because the bowl was not full. He performed Ghusl in the hump of a camel and then came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Clean earth is also a purifier until you find water, even if you do not find water for ten years. However, when you find water, pour it over your body."

بنی عامر کے ایک صاحب کا کہنا ہے (وہ صاحب ابوالمہلب خرمی ہیں) کہ میں کافر تھا اللہ نے مجھے اسلام کی طرف ہدایت دے دی ہمارے علاقے میں پانی نہیں تھا اہلیہ میرے ساتھ تھی جس کی بناء پر بعض اوقات مجھے جنابت لاحق ہوجاتی، میرے دل میں یہ مسئلہ معلوم کرنے کی اہمیت بیٹھ گئی کسی شخص نے مجھے حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ کا پتہ بتادیا میں حج کے لئے روانہ ہوا اور مسجد منٰی میں داخل ہوا تو حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ کو پہچان گیا وہ عمر رسیدہ تھے انہیں پسینہ آیا ہوا تھا اور انہوں نے اونی جوڑا پہن رکھا تھا میں جا کر ان کے پہلو میں کھڑا ہوگیا وہ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے میں نے انہیں سلام کیا لیکن انہوں نے جواب نہ دیا خوب اچھی طرح مکمل نماز پڑھنے کے بعد انہوں نے میرے سلام کا جواب دیا میں نے ان سے پوچھا کہ آپ ہی ابوذر ہیں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا میرے گھر والے تو یہی سمجھتے ہیں پھر میں نے انہیں اپنا واقعہ سنایا انہوں نے فرمایا کیا تم ابوذر کو پہچانتے ہو؟ میں نے کہا جی ہاں! انہوں نے فرمایا مجھے مدینہ کی آب وہوا موافق نہ آئی تھی یا فرمایا کہ مجھے پیٹ کا مرض لاحق ہوگیا رسول اکرم ﷺ نے مجھے کچھ اونٹوں اور بکریوں کے دودھ پینے کا حکم فرمایا حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ میں پانی (کے علاقے) سے دور رہتا تھا میرے ساتھ اہل و عیال بھی تھے جب مجھے غسل کی ضرورت پیش آتی تو میں بغیر پاکی حاصل کئے ہوئے نماز پڑھ لیا کرتا ایک مرتبہ جب میں خدمت نبوی ﷺ میں حاضر ہوا تو وہ دوپہر کا وقت تھا اور آپ ﷺ کچھ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم کے ہمراہ مسجد کے سایہ میں تشریف فرما تھے میں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں ہلاک ہوگیا آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا کیا بات ہوگئی؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ حضرت! میں پانی (کے علاقے سے) دور تھا میرے ہمراہ میری اہلیہ بھی تھی مجھے غسل کی جب ضرورت پیش آجاتی تو میں بغیر غسل کئے ہی نماز پڑھ لیا کرتا تھا آپ ﷺ نے میرے لئے پانی منگوانے کا حکم فرمایا چنانچہ ایک کالے رنگ کی باندی میرے لئے بڑے پیالے میں پانی لے کر آئی۔ پیالہ کا پانی ہل رہا تھا کیونکہ پیالہ بھرا ہوا نہیں تھا میں نے ایک اونٹ کی اڑ میں غسل کیا اور پھر آپ ﷺ کے پاس حاضر ہوا آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا پاک مٹی بھی مطہر ہوتی ہے جب تک پانی نہ ملے اگرچہ تم کو دس سال تک بھی پانی میسر نہ آسکے البتہ جب پانی مل جائے تو اس کو بدن پر بہا لو۔
Bani Amir ke aik sahab ka kehna hai (wo sahab Abualmuhallab Khurmi hain) keh main kafir tha Allah ne mujhe Islam ki taraf hidayat de di hamare ilaqay mein pani nahin tha ahliya mere sath thi jis ki bina par baaz auqaat mujhe janabat lahaq hojati, mere dil mein yeh masla maloom karne ki ahmiyat baith gayi kisi shakhs ne mujhe Hazrat Abuzar razi Allah anhu ka pata batadya main Hajj ke liye rawana hua aur Masjid Mina mein dakhil hua to Hazrat Abuzar razi Allah anhu ko pehchan gaya wo umar raseedah the unhen paseena aaya hua tha aur unhon ne oni joda pehn rakha tha main ja kar un ke pehlu mein khara hogaya wo namaz parh rahe the main ne unhen salam kiya lekin unhon ne jawab na diya khoob achi tarah mukammal namaz parhne ke baad unhon ne mere salam ka jawab diya main ne un se poocha keh aap hi Abuzar hain? Unhon ne farmaya mere ghar wale to yahi samajhte hain phir main ne unhen apna waqea sunaya unhon ne farmaya kya tum Abuzar ko pehchante ho? Main ne kaha ji haan! Unhon ne farmaya mujhe Madina ki aab o hawa muwafiq na aai thi ya farmaya keh mujhe pet ka marz lahaq hogaya Rasul Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe kuchh oonton aur bakriyon ke doodh peene ka hukum farmaya Hazrat Abuzar razi Allah anhu ne farmaya keh main pani (ke ilaqay) se door rehta tha mere sath ahle o ayaal bhi the jab mujhe ghusl ki zaroorat pesh aati to main baghair paki hasil kiye hue namaz parh liya karta ek martaba jab main khidmat nabvi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mein hazir hua to wo dophar ka waqt tha aur aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kuchh sahaba kiram razi Allah anhum ke hamrah masjid ke saya mein tashreef farma the main ne arz kiya keh ya Rasul Allah! Main halaak hogaya aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya kya baat hogayi? Main ne arz kiya keh Hazrat! Main pani (ke ilaqay se) door tha mere hamrah meri ahliya bhi thi mujhe ghusl ki jab zaroorat pesh aajati to main baghair ghusl kiye hi namaz parh liya karta tha aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mere liye pani mangwane ka hukum farmaya chunancha ek kale rang ki bandi mere liye bare pyale mein pani lekar aai. Pyala ka pani hil raha tha kyunki pyala bhara hua nahin tha main ne ek oont ki od mein ghusl kiya aur phir aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas hazir hua aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya pak mitti bhi mutahir hoti hai jab tak pani na mile agarche tum ko das saal tak bhi pani miasar na aasake albatta jab pani mil jaye to us ko badan par baha lo.
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " أَتَدْرُونَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ؟" قَالَ قَائِلٌ الصَّلَاةُ وَالزَّكَاةُ، وَقَالَ قَائِلٌ الْجِهَادُ، قَالَ:" إِنَّ أَحَبَّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللَّهِ الْحُبُّ فِي اللَّهِ، وَالْبُغْضُ فِي اللَّهِ" .
