Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21498
Abdullah bin Shaqiq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Once I said to Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), "If only I had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I would have asked him just one question." He (Abu Dharr) said, "What would you have asked him?" He (Abdullah) said, "I would have asked him whether he had seen his Lord." Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I already asked him that question, and he said, 'I saw a light. How could I bear to look at Him?'"

عبداللہ بن شقیق رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ سے عرض کیا کہ کاش! میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو دیکھا ہوتا تو ان سے ایک سوال ہی پوچھ لیتا، انہوں نے فرمایا تم ان سے کیا سوال پوچھتے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں یہ سوال پوچھتا کہ کیا آپ نے اپنے رب کی زیارت کی ہے؟ حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا یہ سوال تو میں ان سے پوچھ چکا ہوں جس کے جواب میں انہوں نے فرمایا تھا کہ میں نے ایک نور دیکھا ہے، میں اسے کہاں دیکھ سکتا ہوں؟
Abdullaah bin Shaqeek rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke aik martaba maine Hazrat Abuzar razi Allaah anhu se arz kiya ke kaash! maine Nabi Kareem sallallaahu alaihi wasallam ko dekha hota to unse aik sawal hi puchh leta, unhon ne farmaya tum unse kya sawal puchte? unhon ne kaha ke main ye sawal puchta ke kya aap ne apne rab ki ziyarat ki hai? Hazrat Abuzar razi Allaah anhu ne farmaya ye sawal to main unse puchh chuka hun jis ke jawab mein unhon ne farmaya tha ke maine aik noor dekha hai, main ise kahan dekh sakta hun?.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لِأَبِي ذَرٍّ لَوْ كُنْتُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَسَأَلْتُهُ، قَالَ: عَنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ؟ قُلْتُ: أَسْأَلُهُ هَلْ رَأَى مُحَمَّدٌ رَبَّهُ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ: قَدْ سَأَلْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: " نُورًا أَنَّى أَرَاهُ" .
