Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21566
It is narrated by Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, on the 23rd night of Ramadan, we observed the night vigil with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) until the last third of the night. Then, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I think that what you are searching for is ahead (Laylatul Qadr)." Similarly, on the 25th night, we observed the night vigil until half of the night had passed. Then, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said the same thing, "I think that what you are searching for is ahead (Laylatul Qadr)." Likewise, on the 27th night, we observed the night vigil until morning, but this time the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent.

حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ماہ رمضان کی ٢٣ ویں شب میں ہم نے نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ تہائی رات تک قیام کیا پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا میرا خیال ہے کہ جس چیز کو تم تلاش کر رہے ہو، وہ آگے ہے (شب قدر) اسی طرح ٢٥ ویں شب کو نصف رات تک قیام کیا پھر یہی فرمایا میرا خیال ہے کہ جس چیز کو تم تلاش کر رہے ہو وہ آگے ہے (شب قدر) اسی طرح ٢٧ ویں شب کو صبح تک قیام کیا لیکن اس مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے سکوت فرمایا۔
Hazrat Abuzar razi Allah anhu se marvi hai keh aik martaba mah Ramadan ki 23 ween shab mein hum ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath tehhai raat tak qayam kya phir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya mera khayal hai keh jis cheez ko tum talash kar rahe ho woh aage hai (Shab e Qadr) isi tarah 25 ween shab ko nisf raat tak qayam kya phir yehi farmaya mera khayal hai keh jis cheez ko tum talash kar rahe ho woh aage hai (Shab e Qadr) isi tarah 27 ween shab ko subah tak qayam kya lekin is martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sikut farmaya.
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ: قُمْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ الْأَوَّلِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " لَا أَحْسَبُ مَا تَطْلُبُونَ إِلَّا وَرَاءَكُمْ"، ثُمَّ قُمْنَا مَعَهُ لَيْلَةَ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ إِلَى نِصْفِ اللَّيْلِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" لَا أُحْسَبُ مَا تَطْلُبُونَ إِلَّا وَرَاءَكُمْ" فَقُمْنَا مَعَهُ لَيْلَةَ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ وَسَكَتَ .
