Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21658
It is narrated on the authority of Zaid bin Thabit, may Allah be pleased with him, that once we were with the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in a place in Madinah Munawwarah where there were some graves. The Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was riding a mule at that time. Suddenly, the mule started acting stubborn, and it was about to throw the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, off its back. The Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, asked, "Does anyone know whose graves these are?" A man submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! These people died in the pre-Islamic period of ignorance." The Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "Had it not been for the fear that you would stop burying your dead, I would have supplicated to Allah Almighty to make you hear some punishment of the grave." Then, he said to us, "Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of Hell." We said, "We seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of Hell." Then he said, "Seek refuge with Allah from the tribulation of the Antichrist (Dajjal)." We said, "We seek refuge with Allah from the tribulation of the Antichrist." Then he said, "Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave." We said, "We seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave." Then he said, "Seek refuge with Allah from the trials of life and death." We said, "We seek refuge with Allah from the trials of life and death."

حضرت زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ مدینہ منورہ کی کسی جگہ میں تھے جہاں کچھ قبریں بھی تھیں نبی کریم ﷺ اس وقت ایک خچر پر سوار تھے، اچانک وہ خچر بدکنے لگا اور قریب تھا کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کو گرا دیتا، نبی کریم ﷺ نے پوچھا کسی کو معلوم ہے کہ یہ کن لوگوں کی قبریں ہیں؟ ایک آدمی نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! یہ لوگ زمانہ جاہلیت میں فوت ہوگئے تھے نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اگر یہ خطرہ نہ ہوتا کہ تم اپنے مردوں کو دفن کرنا چھوڑ دو گے تو میں اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعاء کرتا کہ تمہیں کچھ عذاب قبر سنا دیتا، پھر ہم سے فرمایا عذاب جہنم سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگا کرو، ہم نے عرض کیا کہ ہم عذاب جہنم سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں، پھر فرمایا مسیح دجال کے فتنے سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگا کرو ہم نے عرض کیا کہ ہم مسیح دجال کے فتنے سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں پھر فرمایا عذاب قبر سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگا کرو ہم نے عرض کیا کہ ہم عذاب قبر سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں پھر فرمایا زندگی اور موت کے فتنے سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگا کرو ہم نے عرض کیا کہ ہم زندگی اور موت کے فتنے سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Zaid bin Sabit razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki ek martaba hum log Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath Madina Munawwara ki kisi jagah mein the jahan kuchh qabren bhi thin Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) us waqt ek khachchar par sawar the, achanak woh khachchar badakne laga aur qareeb tha ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko gira deta, Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne poochha kisi ko maloom hai ki ye kin logon ki qabren hain? Ek aadmi ne arz kiya Ya Rasulullah! Ye log zamana jahiliyat mein faut hogaye the Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya agar ye khatra na hota ki tum apne murdon ko dafan karna chhor do ge to main Allah ta'ala se dua karta ki tumhen kuchh azab qabr suna deta, phir humse farmaya azab jahannam se Allah ki panah manga karo, humne arz kiya ki hum azab jahannam se Allah ki panah mangte hain, phir farmaya Masih Dajjal ke fitne se Allah ki panah manga karo humne arz kiya ki hum Masih Dajjal ke fitne se Allah ki panah mangte hain phir farmaya azab qabr se Allah ki panah manga karo humne arz kiya ki hum azab qabr se Allah ki panah mangte hain phir farmaya zindagi aur maut ke fitne se Allah ki panah manga karo humne arz kiya ki hum zindagi aur maut ke fitne se Allah ki panah mangte hain.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنَا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَائِطٍ مِنْ حِيطَانِ الْمَدِينَةِ، فِيهِ أَقْبُرٌ، وَهُوَ عَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ، فَحَادَتْ بِهِ، وَكَادَتْ أَنْ تُلْقِيَهُ، فَقَالَ: " مَنْ يَعْرِفُ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الْأَقْبُرِ؟" فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَوْمٌ هَلَكُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، فَقَالَ:" لَوْلَا أَنْ لَا تَدَافَنُوا، لَدَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ"، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَنَا:" تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ"، قُلْنَا: نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ"، فَقُلْنَا: نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ"، فَقُلْنَا: نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ"، قُلْنَا: نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ .
