The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2193
Our master Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, narrates that the practice of speeding up mounts originated with the Bedouins. These people would stay at the edges (of the camp) so they could hang their staffs, quivers, and bowls. When they set out (on their journeys), they would take these things with them. They had set out with the people (in this manner) when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was seen with the back of his she-camel's ears touching the howdah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was gesturing with his hands and saying, "People! Go easy! People! Calm down and take it easy!"

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ سواریوں کو تیز کرنے کا آغاز دیہاتی لوگوں کی طرف سے ہوا تھا، یہ لوگ کناروں پر ٹھہرے ہوئے تھے تاکہ اپنی لاٹھیاں، ترکش اور پیالے لٹکا سکیں، جب انہوں نے کوچ کیا تو ان چیزوں کو بھی اپنے ساتھ لے گئے، انہوں نے کوچ تو لوگوں کے ساتھ کیا تھا (لیکن مذکورہ طریقے سے) اس وقت نبی ﷺ کو اس حال میں دیکھا گیا کہ آپ ﷺ کی اونٹنی کے دونوں کانوں کا پچھلا حصہ فیل بان کو چھو رہا تھا اور نبی ﷺ اپنے ہاتھوں سے اشارہ کرتے ہوئے فرما رہے تھے کہ ”لوگو! سکون اختیار کرو، لوگو! سکون اور وقار اختیار کرو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain ki sawariyon ko tez karne ka aghaz dehati logon ki taraf se hua tha, ye log kinaron par thehre hue the taake apni lathiyan, tarkash aur piyale latka saken, jab unhon ne کوچ kiya to in cheezon ko bhi apne sath le gaye, unhon ne کوچ to logon ke sath kiya tha (lekin mazkura tarike se) us waqt Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko is hal mein dekha gaya ki aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki untni ke donon kaanon ka pichhla hissa fil ban ko chhu raha tha aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne hathon se ishara karte hue farma rahe the ki "Logo! Sukoon ikhtiyar karo, logo! Sukoon aur waqar ikhtiyar karo."
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ شِنْظِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: إِنَّمَا كَانَ بَدْءُ الْإِيضَاعِ مِنْ قِبَلِ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ، كَانُوا يَقِفُونَ حَافَتَيْ النَّاسِ حَتَّى يُعَلِّقُوا الْعِصِيَّ , وَالْجِعَابَ , وَالْقِعَابَ، فَإِذَا نَفَرُوا، تَقَعْقَعَتْ تِلْكَ، فَنَفَرُوا بِالنَّاسِ، قَالَ: وَلَقَدْ رُئِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَإِنَّ ذِفْرَى نَاقَتِهِ لَيَمَسُّ حَارِكَهَا، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ بِيَدِهِ:" يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ، يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ".
