Hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him)
حَدِيثُ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22067
Abu Idris said: I was once present in a gathering where twenty of the Prophet's companions were present. Among them was a young, handsome companion with bright, big black eyes and sparkling teeth. When there was a difference of opinion among the people, and he would say something, people would accept his word as final. I later found out that he was Muadh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him). The next day, I saw him again. He was praying behind a pillar. He shortened his prayer, sat down quietly with his legs folded, and I approached him. I said, "O Muadh! I love you for the sake of Allah." He asked me, putting me under oath, "Truly?" I replied, also taking an oath. He said, (and there is no doubt about the rest of the hadith), "Those who love each other for the sake of Allah will be under the shade of the Throne on the Day when there will be no shade but His shade. Thrones of light will be set up for them, and the Prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs will envy them because of their closeness to the Lord of the Worlds." Later, when I narrated this hadith to Abdullah ibn Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), he said, "I will only narrate to you the hadith that I heard directly from the tongue of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said, 'My love is guaranteed for those who love one another for My sake, who meet one another for My sake, and who spend on one another for My sake. And those who love one another for the sake of Allah will be upon pulpits of light under the shade of the Throne, on a Day when there will be no shade but its shade.'"

ابو ادریس کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں ایک ایسی مجلس میں شریک ہوا جس میں نبی کریم ﷺ کے بیس صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم تشریف فرما تھے ان میں ایک نوجوان اور کم عمر صحابی بھی تھے ان کا رنگ کھلتا ہوا، بڑی اور سیاہ آنکھیں اور چمکدار دانت تھے، جب لوگوں میں کوئی اختلاف ہوتا اور وہ کوئی بات کہہ دیتے تو لوگ ان کی بات کو حرف آخر سمجھتے تھے، بعد میں معلوم ہوا کہ وہ حضرت معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ ہیں۔ اگلے دن میں دوبارہ حاضر ہوا تو وہ ایک ستون کی آڑ میں نماز پڑھ رہے تھے انہوں نے نماز کو مختصر کیا اور گوٹ مار کر خاموشی سے بیٹھ گئے میں نے آگے بڑھ کر عرض کیا بخدا! میں اللہ کے جلال کی وجہ سے آپ سے محبت کرتا ہوں انہوں نے قسم دے کر پوچھا واقعی؟ میں نے بھی قسم کھا کر جواب دیا انہوں نے غالباً یہ فرمایا کہ اللہ کی خاطر ایک دوسرے سے محبت کرنے والے اس دن عرش الہٰی کے سائے میں ہوں گے جس دن اس کے علاوہ کہیں سایہ نہ ہوگا، (اس کے بعد بقیہ حدیث میں کوئی شک نہیں) ان کے لئے نور کی کرسیاں رکھی جائیں گی اور ان کی نشست گاہ پروردگار عالم کے قریب ہونے کی وجہ سے انبیاء کرام (علیہم السلام) اور صدیقین وشہداء بھی ان پر رشک کریں گے۔ بعد میں یہ حدیث میں نے حضرت عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ کو سنائی تو انہوں نے فرمایا میں بھی تم سے صرف وہی حدیث بیان کروں گا جو میں نے خود لسان نبوت سے سنی ہے اور وہ یہ کہ "" میری محبت ان لوگوں کے لئے طے شدہ ہے جو میری وجہ سے ایک دوسرے سے محبت کرتے ہیں، میری محبت ان لوگوں کے لئے طے شدہ ہے جو میری وجہ سے ایک دوسرے سے ملاقات کرتے ہیں میری محبت ان لوگوں کے لئے طے شدہ ہے جو میری وجہ سے ایک دوسرے پر خرچ کرتے ہیں اور اللہ کے لئے ایک دوسرے سے محبت کرنے والے عرش کے سائے تلے نور کے منبروں پر رونق افروز ہوں گے جبکہ عرش کے سائے کے علاوہ کہیں سایہ نہ ہوگا۔

Agley din main dobara hazir hua to wo aik sutun ki aad mein namaz parh rahe the. Unhon ne namaz ko mukhtasar kya aur got maar kar khamoshi se baith gaye. Main ne aage barh kar arz kiya, "Bukha! Main Allah ke jalal ki wajah se aapse mohabbat karta hun." Unhon ne qasam de kar pucha, "Waqai?" Main ne bhi qasam kha kar jawab diya. Unhon ne ghaliban ye farmaya ki Allah ki khatir ek dusre se mohabbat karne wale us din Arsh Ilahi ke saaye mein honge jis din uske alawa kahin saya na hoga. (Iske baad baqiya hadees mein koi shak nahin.) Un ke liye noor ki kursiyan rakhi jayengi aur un ki nishast Parvardigaar-e-Aalam ke qareeb hone ki wajah se Anbiya kiram alaihimussalam aur siddiqin-o-shuhada bhi un par rashk karenge. Baad mein ye hadees main ne Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko sunaai to unhon ne farmaya, "Main bhi tumse sirf wohi hadees bayan karunga jo main ne khud lisaan-e-nabawwat se suni hai aur wo ye ki, 'Meri mohabbat un logon ke liye tay shuda hai jo meri wajah se ek dusre se mohabbat karte hain. Meri mohabbat un logon ke liye tay shuda hai jo meri wajah se ek dusre se mulaqat karte hain. Meri mohabbat un logon ke liye tay shuda hai jo meri wajah se ek dusre par kharch karte hain aur Allah ke liye ek dusre se mohabbat karne wale Arsh ke saaye tale noor ke mimbaron par ronak afroz honge jab keh Arsh ke saaye ke alawa kahin saya na hoga."
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْقَاسِمِ , حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ , عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ السَّكُونِيِّ , وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُعَاذٍ , سَمِعْتُ مُعَاذًا يَقُولُ: إِنَّا رَقَبْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي: انْتَظَرْنَاهُ , فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
