Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22510
Abu Suwar narrated from his paternal uncle that one time he saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and some people were walking behind him. I also joined them. Suddenly, the people started running, and some were left behind. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came near me and lightly struck me with a twig, reed, miswak, or something else that was in his hand, but by God! It did not hurt me. When it was night, I thought that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, must have hit me for something that Allah had told him about me. Then it came to my mind that I should go to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the morning. Meanwhile, Gabriel, peace be upon him, came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with this revelation: "You are a shepherd, so do not break the horns of your flock." When we finished the Fajr prayer, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed, "O Allah! Some people walk behind me, and I do not like that anyone should walk behind me. O Allah! Make it an atonement and a reward for whoever I have hit or spoken harshly to, or he said, 'Make it a cause of forgiveness and mercy,' or however he said it.

ابوالسوار اپنے ماموں سے نقل کرتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو دیکھا کہ کچھ لوگ آپ کے پیچھے چل رہے ہیں میں بھی ان میں شامل ہوگیا اچانک لوگ دوڑنے لگے اور کچھ لوگ پیچھے رہ گئے نبی کریم ﷺ نے میرے قریب پہنچ کر کسی ٹہنی، سرکنڈے، مسواک یا کسی اور چیز کے ساتھ ہلکی سی ضرب لگائی جو ان کے پاس تھی، لیکن بخدا! مجھے اس سے کوئی تکلیف نہیں ہوئی رات ہوئی تو میں نے سوچا کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے مجھے جو مارا ہے وہ یقینا کسی ایسی بات پر ہوگا جو اللہ نے انہیں میرے متعلق بتادی ہوگی پھر میرے دل میں خیال آیا کہ صبح کو نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضری دوں، ادھر حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام یہ وحی لے کر نبی کریم ﷺ کے پاس حاضر ہوئے کہ آپ راعی ہیں لہٰذا اپنی رعیت کے سینگ نہ توڑیں۔ جب ہم نماز فجر سے فارغ ہوئے تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے دعاء کرتے ہوئے فرمایا اے اللہ! کچھ لوگ میرے پیچھے چلتے ہیں اور مجھے یہ اچھا نہیں لگتا کہ کوئی میرے پیچھے چلے اے اللہ! میں نے جسے مارا ہو یا سخت سست کہا ہو اسے اس کے لئے کفارہ اور باعث اجر بنا دے یا یہ فرمایا باعث مغفرت و رحمت بنا دے یا جیسے بھی فرمایا۔
Abualsiwar apne mamun se naqal karte hain ki ek martaba maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko dekha ki kuch log aap ke peeche chal rahe hain main bhi un mein shamil hogaya achanak log daudne lage aur kuch log peeche reh gaye Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mere qareeb pahunch kar kisi tahni, sarkande, miswak ya kisi aur cheez ke sath halki si zarb lagai jo un ke pass thi, lekin Khuda! mujhe is se koi takleef nahi hui raat hui to maine socha ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe jo mara hai wo yaqinan kisi aisi baat par hoga jo Allah ne unhen mere mutalliq batadi hogi phir mere dil mein khayal aaya ki subah ko Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazri dun, idhar Hazrat Jibraeel alaihissalam yeh wahi lekar Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass hazir huye ki aap rai hain lihaza apni raiyat ke seeng na torein. Jab hum namaz fajr se farigh huye to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne dua karte huye farmaya aye Allah! kuch log mere peeche chalte hain aur mujhe yeh achha nahi lagta ki koi mere peeche chale aye Allah! maine jise mara ho ya sakht sust kaha ho use is ke liye kaffara aur baais ajr bana de ya yeh farmaya baais maghfirat o rehmat bana de ya jaise bhi farmaya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا السُّمَيْطُ ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّوَّارِ، حَدَّثَهُ أَبُو السَّوَّارِ ، عَنْ خَالِهِ ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأُنَاسٌ يَتْبَعُونَهُ فَأَتْبَعْتُهُ مَعَهُمْ، قَالَ: فَفَجِئَنِي الْقَوْمُ يَسْعَوْنَ، قَالَ: وَأَبْقَى الْقَوْمُ، فَأَتَى عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَضَرَبَنِي ضَرْبَةً، إِمَّا بِعَسِيبٍ أَوْ قَضِيبٍ أَوْ سِوَاكٍ، وَشَيْءٍ كَانَ مَعَهُ، قَالَ: فَوَاللَّهِ مَا أَوْجَعَنِي، قَالَ: فَبِتُّ بِلَيْلَةٍ، قَالَ: أَوْ قُلْتُ: مَا ضَرَبَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا لِشَيْءٍ عَلِمَهُ اللَّهُ فِيَّ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَتْنِي نَفْسِي , أَنْ آتِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتُ، قَالَ: فَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّكَ رَاعٍ، فَلَا تَكْسِرَنَّ قُرُونَ رَعِيَّتِكَ , قَالَ: فَلَمَّا صَلَّيْنَا الْغَدَاةَ أَوْ قَالَ: صَبَّحْنَا، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ أُنَاسًا يَتْبَعُونِي، وَإِنِّي لَا يُعْجِبُنِي أَنْ يَتْبَعُونِي , اللَّهُمَّ فَمَنْ ضَرَبْتُ أَوْ سَبَبْتُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ كَفَّارَةً وَأَجْرًا" , أَوْ قَالَ:" مَغْفِرَةً وَرَحْمَةً" , أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ.
