Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22511
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Shahm (may Allah be pleased with him) that once in Medina, a slave girl passed by me and I grabbed her by the side. The next day, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) started taking the pledge of allegiance from the people, and I was also present. But the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not take the pledge from me and said, "Are you the one who pulled the slave girl?" I said, "By Allah! I will never do such a thing again." So the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took the pledge from me as well.

حضرت ابو شہم رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ مدینہ منورہ میں ایک باندی میرے پاس سے گذری تو میں نے اسے اس کے پہلو سے پکڑ لیا اگلے دن نبی کریم ﷺ نے لوگوں سے بیعت لینا شروع کی اور میں بھی حاضر ہوا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے مجھ سے بیعت نہیں لی اور فرمایا تم باندی کو کھینچنے والے ہو؟ میں نے عرض کیا اللہ کی قسم! آئندہ کبھی ایسا نہیں کروں گا چنانچہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے مجھ سے بھی بیعت لے لی۔
Hazrat Abu Shahm RA se marvi hai keh aik martaba Madina Munawwara mein aik bandi mere pas se guzri to maine usay us k pehlu se pakad liya agle din Nabi Kareem SAW ne logon se baiat lena shuru ki aur mein bhi hazir hua to Nabi Kareem SAW ne mujh se baiat nahi li aur farmaya tum bandi ko khenchne wale ho? Maine arz kiya Allah ki qasam! Aindah kabhi aisa nahi karoon ga chunache Nabi Kareem SAW ne mujh se bhi baiat le li.
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُرَيْمُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي شَهْمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: مَرَّتْ بِي جَارِيَةٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، فَأَخَذْتُ بِكَشْحِهَا، قَالَ: وَأَصْبَحَ الرَّسُولُ يُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُهُ، فَلَمْ يُبَايِعْنِي، فَقَالَ: " صَاحِبُ الْجُبَيْذَةِ! قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَاللَّهِ لَا أَعُودُ , قَالَ:" فَبَايَعَنِي" .
