The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2254
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Dhumam ibn Tha'labah - who belonged to Banu Sa'd ibn Bakr - when he came to accept Islam, he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the obligations of Islam, such as prayer, etc. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned five prayers to him and did not add anything to them. Then he mentioned Zakat, fasting and Hajj. Then he told him about the things that Allah has forbidden for him. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished with him, Dhumam said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah. I will, Allah willing, act upon what you have commanded me and will not add or subtract anything from it." Saying this, he left. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If this man with the two locks of hair fulfills what he has said, he will surely enter Paradise."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ضمام بن ثعلبہ - جن کا تعلق بنو سعد بن بکر سے تھا - جب اسلام قبول کرنے کے لئے آئے تو نبی ﷺ سے فرائض اسلام مثلا نماز وغیرہ کے متعلق سوالات کئے، نبی ﷺ نے ان کے سامنے پانچ نمازیں ذکر کیں اور ان پر کچھ اضافہ نہ فرمایا، پھر زکوۃ، روزہ اور حج کا ذکر فرمایا، پھر وہ چیزیں بتائیں جو اللہ نے ان پر حرام قرار دے رکھی ہیں، نبی ﷺ جب اس سے فارغ ہوئے تو ضمام کہنے لگے کہ میں اس بات کی گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی معبود نہیں اور یہ کہ آپ اللہ کے رسول ہیں، آپ نے مجھے جو حکم دیا ہے میں انشاء اللہ اس کے مطابق کروں گا اور اپنی طرف سے اس میں کوئی کمی بیشی نہیں کروں گا، یہ کہہ کر وہ چلے گئے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اگر اس دو چوٹیوں والے نے اپنی یہ بات سچ کر دکھائی تو ضرور جنت میں داخل ہوگا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Dimam bin Saalab, jin ka taluq Banu Saad bin Bakr se tha, jab Islam qubool karne ke liye aaye to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se faraiz Islam maslan namaz waghaira ke mutalliq sawalat kiye, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un ke samne panch namazain zikar kin aur un par kuchh izafa na farmaya, phir zakat, roza aur Hajj ka zikar farmaya, phir wo cheezen bataien jo Allah ne un par haram qarar de rakhi hain, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab is se farigh huye to Dimam kahne lage ki main is baat ki gawahi deta hun ki Allah ke alawa koi mabood nahin aur ye ki aap Allah ke Rasool hain, aap ne mujhe jo hukm diya hai main Insha Allah us ke mutabiq karunga aur apni taraf se is mein koi kami beshi nahin karunga, ye kah kar wo chale gaye, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Agar is do chotiyon wale ne apni ye baat sach kar dikhayi to zaroor Jannat mein dakhil hoga.
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ نُوَيْفِعٍ مَوْلَى آلِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ ضِمَامَ بْنَ ثَعْلَبَةَ أَخَا بَنِي سَعْدِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ لَمَّا أَسْلَمَ، سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ فَرَائِضِ الْإِسْلَامِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ وَغَيْرِهَا، فَعَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ لَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَيْهِنَّ، ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةَ، ثُمَّ صِيَامَ رَمَضَانَ، ثُمَّ حَجَّ الْبَيْتِ، ثُمَّ أَعْلَمَهُ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ , قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَسَأَفْعَلُ مَا أَمَرْتَنِي بِهِ، لَا أَزِيدُ وَلَا أَنْقُصُ , قَالَ: ثُمَّ وَلَّى، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنْ يَصْدُقْ ذُو الْعَقِيصَتَيْنِ، يَدْخُلْ الْجَنَّةَ".
