Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22705
Walid bin 'Ubadah narrated: I went to my father, 'Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was sick and I thought that he was on his deathbed. I said, "O Father! Advise me." He said, "Make me sit up." When I made him sit up, he said, "O my son! You will not experience the taste of faith, nor will you know the reality of the knowledge of Allah, until you believe that what has afflicted you could not have missed you, and what has missed you could not have afflicted you. I said, "O Father! How will I know which decree is good for me and which one is bad?" He said, "Believe that what you missed could have happened to you, and what happened to you could not have been missed. O my son! I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: 'The first thing Allah created was the Pen, and He said to it: 'Write.' It wrote down whatever would happen until the Day of Judgment.' O my son! If you die without believing in this, you will enter Hellfire."

ولید بن عبادہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ (اپنے والد) حضرت عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا وہ اس وقت بیمار تھے اور میں سمجھتا تھا کہ یہ ان کا مرض الوفات ہے میں نے ان سے عرض کیا اباجان! مجھے چھان پھٹک کر کوئی وصیت کر دیجئے انہوں نے فرمایا مجھے اٹھا کر بٹھا دو جب انہیں اٹھا کر بٹھا دیا گیا تو فرمایا بیٹا! تم اس وقت تک ایمان کا ذائقہ نہیں چکھ سکتے اور علم باللہ کی حقیقت نہیں جان سکتے جب تک تم اچھی بری تقدیر اللہ کی طرف سے ہونے پر ایمان نہ لاؤ میں نے عرض کیا اباجان! مجھے کیسے معلوم ہوگا کہ تقدیر کا کون سا فیصلہ میرے حق میں اچھا ہے اور کون سا برا؟ فرمایا تم اس بات کا یقین رکھو کہ جو چیز تم سے چوک گئی وہ تمہیں پیش آسکتی تھی اور جو پیش آگئی وہ چوک نہیں سکتی تھی بیٹا! میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ سب سے پہلے اللہ تعالیٰ نے قلم کو پیدا کیا اور اس سے فرمایا لکھ چنانچہ اس نے قیامت تک ہونے والے واقعات کو لکھ دیا بیٹا! اگر تم مرتے وقت اس عقیدے پر نہ ہوئے تو تم جہنم میں داخل ہو گے۔
Waleed bin Ubaada kehte hain ki ek martaba (apne walid) Hazrat Ubaada RaziAllahu Anhu ki khidmat mein hazir hua woh us waqt bimar thay aur main samjhta tha ki yeh un ka marz ul wifaat hai maine un se arz kiya abajan mujhe chaan phatak kar koi wasiyat kar deejiye unhon ne farmaya mujhe utha kar bitha do jab unhen utha kar bitha diya gaya to farmaya beta tum us waqt tak imaan ka zaiqa nahin chakh sakte aur ilm billah ki haqeeqat nahin jaan sakte jab tak tum acchi buri taqdeer Allah ki taraf se hone per imaan na lao maine arz kiya abajan mujhe kaise maloom hoga ki taqdeer ka kon sa faisala mere haq mein achha hai aur kon sa bura farmaya tum is baat ka yaqeen rakho ki jo cheez tum se chook gayi woh tumhen pesh aa sakti thi aur jo pesh aa gayi woh chook nahin sakti thi beta maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko yeh farmate hue suna hai ki sab se pehle Allah Ta'ala ne qalam ko paida kiya aur us se farmaya likh chunanche us ne qayamat tak hone wale waqeat ko likh diya beta agar tum marte waqt is aqeede per na hue to tum jahannam mein dakhil ho jaoge.
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَلَاءِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي , قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُبَادَةَ وَهُوَ مَرِيضٌ أَتَخَايَلُ فِيهِ الْمَوْتَ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَتَاهُ، أَوْصِنِي وَاجْتَهِدْ لِي , فَقَالَ: أَجْلِسُونِي فَلَمَّا أَجْلَسُوه، قَالَ: يَا بُنَيَّ، إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَطْعَمَ طَعْمَ الْإِيمَانِ، وَلَنْ تَبْلُغْ حَقَّ حَقِيقَةِ الْعِلْمِ بِاللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى، حَتَّى تُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا أَبَتَاهُ، فَكَيْفَ لِي أَنْ أَعْلَمَ مَا خَيْرُ الْقَدَرِ وَشَرُّهُ؟ قَالَ: تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مَا أَخْطَأَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَكَ، وَمَا أَصَابَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَكَ، يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ:" إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى الْقَلَمُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: اكْتُبْ، فَجَرَى فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ" ، يَا بُنَيَّ إِنْ مِتَّ وَلَسْتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ، دَخَلْتَ النَّارَ.
