The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2332
Our master Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said: I have preserved all the Sunnahs of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, but there are three things that I do not know: first, whether the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite in Zuhr and Asr prayers or not? And I also do not know how the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite this word: «وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنْ الْكِبَرِ عُتِيًّا» (with a pesh on the 'ayn and a ta) or «عُسُيًّا» (with a pesh on the 'ayn and a seen)? The narrator forgot the third thing.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کی تمام سنتوں کو محفوظ کر لیا ہے لیکن مجھے تین باتیں معلوم نہیں ہیں، پہلی یہ کہ نبی ﷺ ظہر اور عصر میں قراءت فرماتے تھے یا نہیں؟ اور مجھے یہ بھی معلوم نہیں کہ نبی ﷺ اس لفظ کو کس طرح پڑھتے تھے: «وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنْ الْكِبَرِ عُتِيًّا» (عین کے پیش اور تاء کے ساتھ) یا «عُسُيًّا» (عین کے پیش اور سین کے ساتھ)؟ تیسری بات راوی بھول گئے۔
Sayyida Ibn Abbas Radi Allaho Anhuma farmate hain ke maine Nabi sallallaho alaihi wasallam ki tamam sunton ko mehfooz kar liya hai lekin mujhe teen baaten maloom nahin hain, pehli yeh ke Nabi sallallaho alaihi wasallam Zuhr aur Asr mein qirat farmate thay ya nahin? Aur mujhe yeh bhi maloom nahin ke Nabi sallallaho alaihi wasallam is lafz ko kis tarah parhte thay: «Wa qad balaghtu minal kibari 'utiyya» (ain ke pesh aur taa ke sath) ya «'usiyya» (ain ke pesh aur seen ke sath)? Teesri baat ravi bhul gaye.
(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" مَا سَنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُهُ غَيْرَ ثَلَاثٍ: لَا أَدْرِي أكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ أَمْ لَا؟ وَلَا أَدْرِي كَيْفَ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ: وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا سورة مريم آية 8 أَوْ 0 عُسُيًّا 0؟" , قَالَ حُصَيْنٌ: وَنَسِيتُ الثَّالِثَةَ , قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ: سَمِعْتُهَا كُلَّهَا أَنَا مِنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ.
