The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2353
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This city is sacred, Allah Almighty has made Makkah al-Mukarramah a sanctuary, therefore, fighting is not lawful here for those before me or after me. Even for me, it was made lawful only for a few hours of the day. The grass here should not be cut, its trees should not be cut down, its game should not be chased away, and nothing that falls on its ground should be picked up except by one who announces it publicly so that its owner may recognize it." Sayyiduna 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Except for the 'Idhkhir' grass for our goldsmiths and for our graves." So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made an exception for it.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فتح مکہ کے دن ارشاد فرمایا: ”یہ شہر حرام ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ نے مکہ مکرمہ کو حرم قرار دیا ہے، لہذا مجھ سے پہلے یا بعد والوں کے لئے یہاں قتال حلال نہیں ہے، میرے لئے بھی دن کی صرف چند ساعات اور گھنٹوں کے لئے اسے حلال کیا گیا تھا، یہاں کی گھاس نہ کاٹی جائے، یہاں کے درخت نہ کاٹے جائیں، یہاں کے شکار کو مت بھگایا جائے اور یہاں کی گری پڑی چیز کو نہ اٹھایا جائے، سوائے اس شخص کے جو اس کا اشتہار دے کر مالک تک اسے پہنچا دے۔“ سیدنا عباس رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہمارے سناروں اور قبرستانوں کے لئے اذخر نامی گھاس کو مستثنی فرما دیجئے، چنانچہ نبی ﷺ نے اسے مستثنی فرما دیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Fath Makkah ke din irshad farmaya: "Yeh shehar haraam hai, Allah Ta'ala ne Makkah Mukarramah ko haram qarar diya hai, lihaza mujh se pehle ya baad walon ke liye yahan qital halal nahi hai, mere liye bhi din ki sirf chand saa'at aur ghanto ke liye ise halal kiya gaya tha, yahan ki ghaas na kaati jaye, yahan ke darakht na kaate jayen, yahan ke shikar ko mat bha gaya jaye aur yahan ki giri padi cheez ko na uthaya jaye, siwaye us shakhs ke jo iska istehaar dekar maalik tak ise pahuncha de." Sayyidna Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne arz kiya: Ya Rasul Allah! Humare sanaron aur qabrastanon ke liye izkhar nami ghaas ko mustasna farma dijiye, chunanchi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ise mustasna farma diya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورٌ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ:" إِنَّ هَذَا الْبَلَدَ حَرَامٌ، حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ، فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ، حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، مَا أُحِلَّ لِأَحَدٍ فِيهِ الْقَتْلُ غَيْرِي، وَلَا يَحِلُّ لِأَحَدٍ بَعْدِي فِيهِ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ، وَمَا أُحِلَّ لِي فِيهِ إِلَّا سَاعَةٌ مِنَ النَّهَارِ، فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى أَنْ تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ، وَلَا يُعْضَدُ شَوْكُهُ، وَلَا يُخْتَلَى خَلَاهُ، وَلَا يُنَفَّرُ صَيْدُهُ، وَلَا تُلْتَقَطُ لُقَطَتُهُ إِلَّا لِمُعَرِّفٍ" , قَالَ: فَقَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَلَدِ , قَدْ عَلِمَ الَّذِي لَا بُدَّ لَهُمْ مِنْهُ: إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا بُدَّ لَهُمْ مِنْهُ، فَإِنَّهُ لِلْقُبُورِ وَالْبُيُوتِ , قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ".
