The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2399
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stayed in Makkah al-Mukarramah for fifteen years, seven or eight years during which he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would see the light and hear the sound, and seven or eight years during which revelation was sent down upon him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) resided in Madinah al-Munawwarah for ten years.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ پندرہ سال مکہ مکرمہ میں مقیم رہے، سات یا آٹھ سال اس طرح کہ آپ ﷺ روشنی دیکھتے تھے اور آواز سنتے تھے، اور سات یا آٹھ سال اس طرح کہ آپ ﷺ پر وحی نازل ہوتی تھی، اور مدینہ منورہ میں آپ ﷺ دس سال تک اقامت گزیں رہے۔
Sayyedna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) pandrah saal Makkah Mukarramah mein muqeem rahe, saat ya aath saal is tarah ki aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) roshni dekhte the aur aawaz sunte the, aur saat ya aath saal is tarah ki aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) par wahi nazil hoti thi, aur Madina Munawwarah mein aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) das saal tak iqamat guzeen rahe.
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" أَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ أَوْ سَبْعًا يَرَى الضَّوْءَ وَيَسْمَعُ الصَّوْتَ، وَثَمَانِيًا أَوْ سَبْعًا يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ، وَأَقَامَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرًا".
