Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2400
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that before the pulpit was made, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to deliver the sermon leaning on a trunk of a date palm tree. When the pulpit was made and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) moved towards it, the trunk of the date palm tree started weeping due to the grief of separation from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) silenced it by placing it on his chest, then it found peace. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If I had not silenced it, it would have continued weeping till the Day of Judgement."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما اورسیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ منبر بننے سے قبل نبی ﷺ کھجور کے ایک تنے سے ٹیک لگا کر خطبہ ارشاد فرمایا کرتے تھے، جب منبر بن گیا اور نبی ﷺ منبر کی طرف منتقل ہو گئے تو کھجور کا وہ تنا نبی ﷺ کی جدائی کے غم میں رونے لگا، نبی ﷺ نے اسے اپنے سینے سے لگا کر خاموش کرایا تو اسے سکون آ گیا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اگر میں اسے خاموش نہ کراتا تو یہ قیامت تک روتا ہی رہتا۔“
Sayyida Ibne Abbas RA aur Sayyida Anas RA se marvi hai ki mimbar banne se pehle Nabi SAW khajoor ke aik tane se tek laga kar khutba irshad farmaya karte thay, jab mimbar ban gaya aur Nabi SAW mimbar ki taraf muntaqil ho gaye to khajoor ka wo tana Nabi SAW ki judai ke gham mein rone laga, Nabi SAW ne use apne seene se laga kar khamosh karaya to use sukoon aa gaya, Nabi SAW ne farmaya: ”Agar mein use khamosh na karata to ye qayamat tak rota hi rehta.
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعِ نَخْلَةٍ، فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ تَحَوَّلَ إِلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، فَحَنَّ الْجِذْعُ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَاحْتَضَنَهُ فَسَكَنَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" لَوْ لَمْ أَحْتَضِنْهُ، لَحَنَّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ".
