Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 23995
Auf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) allowed the travelers to wipe over their socks for three days and nights, and for the resident, one day and night during the Battle of Tabuk.

حضرن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے غزوہ تبوک میں مسافروں کو تین دن رات اور مقیم ایک دن رات موزوں پر مسح کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے۔
Hazrat Auf (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Ghazwa Tabuk mein musafiroon ko teen din raat aur muqeem ek din raat mozon par masah karne ka hukm diya hai.
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ بِالْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ: ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ، وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ" .
