Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 24017
It is narrated on the authority of Aisha Radi Allahu Anha that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would wake up at night to pray, he would begin his prayer with two light Rakahs.

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب رات کو نماز پڑھنے کے لئے بیدار ہوتے تو نماز کا آغاز دو خفیف رکعتوں سے فرماتے تھے۔
Hazrat Aisha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab raat ko namaz parhne ke liye bedar hote to namaz ka aaghaz do khafif rak'aton se farmate the.
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي حُرَّةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت:" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يُصَلِّي افْتَتَحَ صَلَاتَهُ بِرَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ" .
