Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 24453
Abdullah bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), “Tell me, did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) perform ghusl (ritual bath) from Janabah (state of impurity after sexual intercourse) in the first part of the night or in the last part?” She said, "Sometimes he would perform ghusl in the first part of the night and sometimes in the last part.” Upon this, I said, “Allahu Akbar, praise be to Allah Who has kept it spacious in this matter.” Then I asked, "Tell me, did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pray Witr in the first part of the night or in the last?” She replied, "Sometimes he would pray it in the first part of the night and sometimes in the last.” Again, I said, “Allahu Akbar, praise be to Allah Who has kept it spacious in this matter.” Then I asked, "Tell me, did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recite aloud or silently?” She replied, “Sometimes he would recite aloud and sometimes silently.” Again, I said, “Allahu Akbar, praise be to Allah Who has kept it spacious in this matter.”

عبداللہ بن قیس رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا یہ بتایئے کہ نبی ﷺ غسل جنابت رات کے ابتدائی حصے میں کرتے تھے یا آخری حصے میں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کبھی رات کے ابتدائی حصے میں غسل فرما لیتے تھے اور کبھی رات کے آخری حصے میں، اس پر میں نے اللہ اکبر کہہ کر عرض کیا شکر ہے، اس اللہ کا جس نے اس معاملے میں وسعت رکھی ہے، پھر میں نے پو چھا یہ بتایئے کہ نبی ﷺ رات کے اول حصے میں وتر پڑھتے یا آخر میں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کبھی رات کے ابتدائی حصے میں وتر پڑھ لیتے تھے اور کبھی آخری حصے میں، میں نے پھر اللہ اکبر کہہ کر عرض کیا شکر ہے اس اللہ کا جس نے اس معاملے میں وسعت رکھی، پھر میں نے پوچھا یہ بتایئے کہ نبی ﷺ جہری قرأت فرماتے تھے یا سری؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کبھی جہری اور کبھی سری، میں نے پھر اللہ اکبر کہہ کر عرض کیا اس اللہ کا شکر ہے جس نے اس معاملے میں بھی وسعت رکھی ہے۔
Abdullah bin Qais rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ki maine Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se pucha yeh bataiye ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ghusl e janabat raat ke ibtidai hisse mein karte the ya akhri hisse mein? Unhon ne farmaya kabhi raat ke ibtidai hisse mein ghusl farma lete the aur kabhi raat ke akhri hisse mein, is par maine Allahu Akbar keh kar arz kiya shukar hai, is Allah ka jisne is mamle mein wusat rakhi hai, phir maine poocha yeh bataiye ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) raat ke awal hisse mein witr parhte ya akhir mein? Unhon ne farmaya kabhi raat ke ibtidai hisse mein witr parh lete the aur kabhi akhri hisse mein, maine phir Allahu Akbar keh kar arz kiya shukar hai is Allah ka jisne is mamle mein wusat rakhi, phir maine pucha yeh bataiye ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jahri qirat farmate the ya sirri? Unhon ne farmaya kabhi jahri aur kabhi sirri, maine phir Allahu Akbar keh kar arz kiya is Allah ka shukar hai jisne is mamle mein bhi wusat rakhi hai.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ أَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ، أَوْ مِنْ آخِرِهِ؟ فَقَالَتْ: " كُلُّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ، رُبَّمَا أَوْتَرَ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ، وَرُبَّمَا أَوْتَرَ آخِرَهُ"، قُلْتُ: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ سَعَةً، قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ كَانَتْ قِرَاءَتُهُ، يُسِرُّ أَوْ يَجْهَرُ؟ قَالَتْ:" كُلُّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ يَفْعَل، رُبَّمَا أَسَرَّ، وَرُبَّمَا جَهَرَ"، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ سَعَةً، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِي الْجَنَابَةِ، أَكَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ، أَوْ يَنَامُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ؟ قَالَتْ:" كُلُّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ، رُبَّمَا اغْتَسَلَ، فَنَامَ، وَرُبَّمَا تَوَضَّأَ، وَنَامَ"، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ سَعَةً .
