The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2507
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) standing in the plain of 'Arafat, with Sayyidina Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) riding behind him. A villager came and stood near the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and his daughter was sitting behind him. Sayyidina Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) started looking at her. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) understood and his face frowned. Then he said: 'O people! Racing camels and horses is not a righteous deed, so make calmness incumbent upon yourselves.' Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) departed from there, and I did not see any rider raise his hands and race swiftly until the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reached Muzdalifah. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stopped at Muzdalifah, he made Sayyidina Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) sit behind him and said: 'O people! Racing camels and horses is not a righteous deed, so walk calmly.' Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) departed from there, and I did not see any rider racing swiftly until he reached Mina. It was in Muzdalifah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the group of weak ones among us, the Banu Hashim, that is, the women and children, who were riding on their donkeys and hitting our thighs, commanding: 'My dear children! You may depart, but do not pelt the Jamarat al-'Aqabah before sunrise.'"

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو میدان عرفات میں کھڑے ہوئے دیکھا، آپ ﷺ نے اپنے پیچھے سیدنا فضل رضی اللہ عنہ کو سوار کر رکھا تھا، ایک دیہاتی آ کر نبی ﷺ کے قریب کھڑا ہو گیا، اس کے پیچھے اس کی بیٹی بیٹھی ہوئی تھی، سیدنا فضل رضی اللہ عنہ اسے دیکھنے لگے، نبی ﷺ سمجھ گئے اور ان کا چہرہ موڑنے لگے، پھر فرمایا: ”لوگو! اونٹ اور گھوڑے تیز دوڑانا کوئی نیکی کا کام نہیں ہے، اس لئے تم سکون کو اپنے اوپر لازم کر لو۔“ پھر نبی ﷺ وہاں سے روانہ ہوئے تو میں نے کسی سواری کو اپنے ہاتھ اٹھائے تیزی کے ساتھ دوڑتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا، یہاں تک کہ نبی ﷺ مزدلفہ پہنچ گئے، جب آپ ﷺ نے مزدلفہ میں وقوف کیا تو اپنے پیچھے سیدنا اسامہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو بٹھا لیا، پھر فرمایا: ”لوگو! اونٹ اور گھوڑے تیز دوڑانا کوئی نیکی کا کام نہیں ہے، اس لئے سکون سے چلو“، پھر نبی ﷺ وہاں سے روانہ ہوئے تو میں نے کسی سواری کو تیزی کے ساتھ دوڑتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا، یہاں تک کہ منیٰ آ پہنچے۔ مزدلفہ ہی میں نبی ﷺ بنو ہاشم کے ہم کمزوروں یعنی عورتوں اور بچوں کی جماعت کے پاس آئے جو اپنے گدھوں پر سوار تھے اور ہماری رانوں پر ہاتھ مارتے ہوئے فرمانے لگے: ”پیارے بچو! تم روانہ ہو جاؤ، لیکن طلوع آفتاب سے پہلے جمرہ عقبہ کی رمی نہ کرنا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko maidan Arafat mein kharay huye dekha, Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apne peechhe Sayyidna Fazal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko sawar kar rakha tha, ek dehati aa kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke qareeb khara ho gaya, uske peechhe uski beti baithi hui thi, Sayyidna Fazal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) use dekhne lage, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) samajh gaye aur unka chehra morne lage, phir farmaya: ”Logon! Unt aur ghore tez dorana koi neki ka kaam nahi hai, isliye tum sukoon ko apne upar lazim kar lo. “ Phir Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) wahan se rawana huye to maine kisi sawari ko apne hath uthaye tezi ke sath daurte huye nahi dekha, yahan tak ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Muzdalifah pahunch gaye, jab Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Muzdalifah mein waqoof kiya to apne peechhe Sayyidna Usama (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko bitha liya, phir farmaya: ”Logon! Unt aur ghore tez dorana koi neki ka kaam nahi hai, isliye sukoon se chalo“, phir Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) wahan se rawana huye to maine kisi sawari ko tezi ke sath daurte huye nahi dekha, yahan tak ki Mina aa pahunche. Muzdalifah hi mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Banu Hashim ke hum kamzoron yani auraton aur bachchon ki jamaat ke pass aaye jo apne gadhon par sawar the aur hamari ranon par hath marte huye farmane lage: ”Pyare bachchon! Tum rawana ho jao, lekin talu-e-aftab se pehle Jamrah Aqabah ki rami na karna. “
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ وَاقِفًا، وَقَدْ أَرْدَفَ الْفَضْلَ، فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَوَقَفَ قَرِيبًا وَأَمَةٌ خَلْفَهُ، فَجَعَلَ الْفَضْلُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا، فَفَطِنَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَجَعَلَ يَصْرِفُ وَجْهَهُ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ:" يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، لَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِإِيجَافِ الْخَيْلِ وَلَا الْإِبِلِ، فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ" , قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ، قَالَ: فَمَا رَأَيْتُهَا رَافِعَةً يَدَهَا عَادِيَةً حَتَّى أَتَى جَمْعًا، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا وَقَفَ بِجَمْعٍ أَرْدَفَ أُسَامَةَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ الْبِرَّ لَيْسَ بِإِيجَافِ الْخَيْلِ وَالْإِبِلِ، فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ" , قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ، فَمَا رَأَيْتُهَا رَافِعَةً يَدَهَا عَادِيَةً، حَتَّى أَتَتْ مِنًى، فَأَتَانَا بسَوَادَ ضَعْفَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ عَلَى حُمُرَاتٍ لَهُمْ، فَجَعَلَ يَضْرِبُ أَفْخَاذَنَا، وَيَقُولُ:" يَا بَنِيَّ، أَفِيضُوا، وَلَا تَرْمُوا الْجَمْرَةَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ".
