The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2541
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “It is better for one of you to give his land as a gift to his brother than to take a fixed rent from him."
Grade: Sahih
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے نبی ﷺ کا یہ ارشاد مروی ہے کہ ”تم میں سے کسی شخص کا اپنی زمین اپنے بھائی کو بطور ہدیہ کے پیش کر دینا اس سے بہتر ہے کہ وہ اس سے اس پر کوئی معین کرایہ وصول کرے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas raza Allahu anhuma se Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka ye irshad marvi hai keh ”Tum mein se kisi shakhs ka apni zameen apne bhai ko bataur hadiya ke pesh kar dena is se behtar hai keh woh is se is par koi muayyan kiraya wasool kare۔“.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، أَنَّ طَاوُسًا قَالَ , حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنْهُمْ، يَعْنِي عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" لَأَنْ يَمْنَحَ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ أَرْضَهُ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ عَلَيْهَا خَرْجًا مَعْلُومًا".
