The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2547
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once during the month of Ramadan, I was sleeping when someone said to me in a dream, "Tonight is Laylat al-Qadr." I woke up, but drowsiness was overcoming me. To shake it off, I clung to a pole of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) tent. Then I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was praying. When I considered the date, it was the twenty-third night.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں رمضان کے مہینے میں سو رہا تھا، خواب میں کسی نے مجھ سے کہا کہ آج کی رات شب قدر ہے، میں اٹھ بیٹھا، اس وقت مجھ پر اونگھ کا غلبہ تھا، میں اسے دور کرنے کے لئے نبی ﷺ کے خیمے کی ایک چوب سے لٹک گیا، پھر میں نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو آپ ﷺ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، میں نے جب غور کیا تو وہ تئیسویں رات تھی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas raziallahu anhuma farmate hain ke ek martaba mein Ramazan ke mahine mein so raha tha, khwab mein kisi ne mujh se kaha ke aaj ki raat Shab e Qadr hai, mein uth baitha, us waqt mujh par ungh ka galba tha, mein use door karne ke liye Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke khaime ki ek choob se latak gaya, phir mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir hua to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz parh rahe the, mein ne jab gौर kiya to wo teiswein raat thi.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، فَقَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سِمَاكٌ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ :" أُتِيتُ وَأَنَا نَائِمٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ، فَقِيلَ لِي: إِنَّ اللَّيْلَةَ لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ , قَالَ: فَقُمْتُ، وَأَنَا نَاعِسٌ، فَتَعَلَّقْتُ بِبَعْضِ أَطْنَابِ فُسْطَاطِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَإِذَا هُوَ يُصَلِّي، قال: فَنَظَرْتُ فِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ، فَإِذَا هِيَ لَيْلَةُ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ".
