Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26089
It is narrated by Umm al-Mu'minin Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting with six of his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and eating food. A villager came and ate all the food in just two bites. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If he had recited Bismillah, this food would have been enough for all of you. So, whenever any one of you eats food, he should recite Bismillah upon it. If he forgets to recite Bismillah in the beginning, he should recite it when he remembers, "Bismillahi fi awwalihi wa akhirihi (In the name of Allah, in the beginning and in the end).

ام المؤمنین حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ اپنے چھ صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ بیٹھے کھانا کھا رہے تھے کہ ایک دیہاتی آیا اور دو لقموں میں ہی سارا کھانا کھا گیا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا اگر یہ بسم اللہ پرھ لیتا تو یہ کھانا تم سب کو کفایت کرجاتا، اس لئے جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص کھانا کھائے تو اسے اس پر بسم اللہ پڑھ لینی چاہیے، اگر وہ شروع میں بسم اللہ پڑھنا بھول جائے تو یاد آنے پر یہ پڑھ لیا کرے " بِسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ "
Am ul momineen Hazrat Ayesha raziallahu anha se marvi hai keh aik martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne chhe sahaba raziallahu anhum ke sath baithe khana kha rahe thay keh aik dehati aaya aur do luqmon mein hi sara khana kha gaya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya agar yeh bismillah parh leta toh yeh khana tum sab ko kafiyat karjata, is liye jab tum mein se koi shakhs khana khaye toh use is per bismillah parh leni chahiye, agar woh shuru mein bismillah parhna bhul jaye toh yaad aane per yeh parh liya kare "Bismillahi fi awwalihi wa akhirihi".
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ , عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهَا: أُمُّ كُلْثُومٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْكُلُ فِي سِتَّةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ , فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ جَائِعٌ فَأَكَلَ بِلُقْمَتَيْنِ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَوْ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ لَكَفَاكُمْ , فَإِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَذْكُرْ اسْمَ اللَّهِ , فَإِنْ نَسِيَ أَنْ يُسَمِّيَ اللَّهَ فِي أَوَّلِهِ , فَلْيَقُلْ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ" .
