The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2627
Maky, the freed slave of Mu'awiyah, says: "I saw Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) leading the people in prayer. He would gesture with his palms while standing and during bowing (ruku') and prostrating (sujood). When rising from prostration, he would gesture with both hands. I went to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, 'I have seen Ibn Zubair praying in a way I have never seen anyone pray before.' I described his gestures to him. He said, 'If you want to see the prayer like the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then follow the prayer of Abdullah bin Zubair.'"

میمون مکی کہتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما کو دیکھا، وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا رہے تھے، وہ کھڑے ہوتے وقت اور رکوع و سجود کرتے وقت اپنی ہتھیلیوں سے اشارہ کرتے تھے، اور سجدہ سے قیام کے لئے اٹھتے ہوئے دونوں ہاتھوں سے اشارہ کرتے تھے، میں یہ دیکھ کر سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس چلا گیا اور ان سے عرض کیا کہ میں نے سیدنا ابن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما کو ایسی نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے کہ اس سے پہلے کسی کو ایسی نماز پڑھتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا، میں نے ان کے سامنے اس اشارہ کا تذکرہ بھی کیا، انہوں نے فرمایا کہ اگر تم نبی ﷺ جیسی نماز دیکھنا چاہتے ہو تو سیدنا عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما کی نماز کی اقتدا کرو۔
Maimoon Makki kehte hain ki unhon ne aik martaba Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ko dekha, woh logon ko namaz parha rahe the, woh kharay hote waqt aur ruku o sajdah karte waqt apni hatheliyon se ishara karte the, aur sajdah se qayam ke liye uthte huye dono hathon se ishara karte the, main ye dekh kar Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke pass chala gaya aur un se arz kiya ki main ne Sayyiduna Ibn Zubair ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ko aisi namaz parhte huye dekha hai ki is se pehle kisi ko aisi namaz parhte huye nahin dekha, main ne un ke samne is ishare ka tazkirah bhi kiya, unhon ne farmaya ki agar tum Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jaisi namaz dekhna chahte ho to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ki namaz ki iqtida karo.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ مَيْمُونَ الْمَكِّيَّ ، أَخْبَرَهُ: أَنَّهُ" رَأَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ صَلَّى بِهِمْ، يُشِيرُ بِكَفَّيْهِ حِينَ يَقُومُ , وَحِينَ يَرْكَعُ، وَحِينَ يَسْجُدُ، وَحِينَ يَنْهَضُ لِلْقِيَامِ، فَيَقُومُ، فَيُشِيرُ بِيَدَيْهِ، قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةً لَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا يُصَلِّيهَا، فَوَصَفْتُ لَهُ هَذِهِ الْإِشَارَةَ، فَقَالَ: إِنْ أَحْبَبْتَ أَنْ تَنْظُرَ إِلَى صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَاقْتَدِ بِصَلَاةِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ".
