Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26289
Abdullah bin Rabah said that once he was in the presence of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and submitted that he wanted to ask her something but felt shy. She said, “You can ask whatever you want, I am like your mother.” I submitted, “Mother of the Believers, what makes Ghusl (ritual bath) compulsory?” She replied, “When the private parts of a man and a woman meet, Ghusl becomes compulsory.” After narrating this Hadith, Qatadah used to say that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do the same, so we also perform Ghusl. Now I do not know whether this sentence is part of the Hadith or a saying of Qatadah.

عبداللہ بن رباح کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ وہ حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا کہ میں آپ سے کچھ پوچھنا چاہتا ہوں لیکن مجھے حیاء آتی ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا جو چاہو پوچھ سکتے ہو کہ میں تمہاری ماں ہوں، میں نے عرض کیا ام المومنین! غسل کس چیز سے واجب ہوتا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ جب شرمگاہیں ایک دوسرے سے مل جائیں تو غسل واجب ہوجاتا ہے۔ اس حدیث کو بیان کرنے کے بعد قتادہ یہ بھی کہتے تھے کہ حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے فرمایا اور نبی ﷺ ایسا کرتے تھے تو ہم غسل کرتے تھے، اب مجھے معلوم نہیں ہے کہ یہ جملہ حدیث کا حصہ یہ یا قتادہ کا قول ہے۔
Abdullah bin Rabah kehte hain ki ek martaba woh Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur arz kiya ki main aapse kuch puchna chahta hun lekin mujhe haya aati hai? Unhon ne farmaya jo chaho puch sakte ho ki main tumhari maan hun, maine arz kiya Ummul Momineen! Gusl kis cheez se wajib hota hai? Unhon ne farmaya ki jab sharmgahen ek dusre se mil jayen to gusl wajib hojata hai. Is hadees ko bayan karne ke baad Qatada ye bhi kehte the ki Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ne farmaya aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aisa karte the to hum gusl karte the, ab mujhe maloom nahin hai ki ye jumla hadees ka hissa hai ya Qatada ka qaul hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ , عَنْ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ , أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ , فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكِ عَنْ شَيْءٍ وَإِنِّي أَسْتَحْيِيكِ , فَقَالَتْ:" سَلْ مَا بَدَا لَكَ , فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا أُمُّكَ" , فَقُلْتُ: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا يُوجِبُ الْغُسْلَ؟ فَقَالَتْ:" إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ الْخِتَانَانِ وَجَبَتْ الْجَنَابَةُ" , فَكَانَ قَتَادَةُ يُتْبِعُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ: " قَدْ فَعَلْتُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاغْتَسَلْنَا" , فَلَا أَدْرِي أَشَيْءٌ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَمْ كَانَ قَتَادَةُ يَقُولُهُ؟ .
