Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26466
Narrated by Hafsa: Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting with his clothes gathered up on his thighs. Abu Bakr came and asked permission to enter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission and remained sitting in the same position. Then Umar came, followed by Ali and other companions, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained sitting in the same way. A little later, Uthman came and asked permission to enter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission and covered his legs with his clothes. They sat for a while, talked, and then left. After they left, I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr, Umar, Ali, and other companions came to you, but you remained sitting in the same position. But when Uthman came, you covered your legs." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Should I not be ashamed of the one before whom the angels are ashamed?"

حضرت حفصہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ اپنے کپڑے سمیٹ کر اپنی رانوں پر ڈال کربیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ حضرت صدیق اکبر آئے اور اجازت چاہی نبی ﷺ نے انہیں اجازت دیدی اور خود اسی کیفیت پر بیٹھے رہے، پھر حضرت عمر پھر حضرت علی اور دیگر صحابہ کرام آتے گئے لیکن نبی ﷺ اسی کیفیت پر بیٹھے رہے تھوڑی دیر بعد حضرت عثمان نے آ کر اجازت چاہی نبی ﷺ نے انہیں اجازت دی اور اپنی ٹانگوں کو کپڑے سے ڈھانپ لیا کچھ دیرتک وہ لوگ بیٹھے باتیں کرتے رہے پھر واپس چلے گئے ان کے جانے کے بعد میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ آپ کے پاس ابوبکر عمر علی اور دیگر صحابہ آئے لیکن آپ اسی کیفیت پر بیٹھے رہے اور جب حضرت عثمان آئے تو آپ نے اپنی ٹانگوں کو کپڑے سے ڈھانپ لیا نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کیا میں اس شخص سے حیاء نہ کروں جس سے فرشتے حیاء کرتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Hafsa se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne kapre samet kar apni ranon par daal kar baithe hue the ki Hazrat Siddiq Akbar aaye aur ijazat chahi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen ijazat dedi aur khud isi kefiyat par baithe rahe phir Hazrat Umar phir Hazrat Ali aur digar sahaba kiram aate gaye lekin Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) isi kefiyat par baithe rahe thori dair baad Hazrat Usman ne aa kar ijazat chahi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen ijazat di aur apni taango ko kapre se dhaanp liya kuch dair tak woh log baithe baaten karte rahe phir wapas chale gaye un ke jaane ke baad mein ne arz kiya ya Rasulullah aap ke pass Abu Bakar Umar Ali aur digar sahaba aaye lekin aap isi kefiyat par baithe rahe aur jab Hazrat Usman aaye to aap ne apni taango ko kapre se dhaanp liya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya kya main is shakhs se haya na karoon jis se farishte haya karte hain.
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ ابْنَةُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ قَدْ وَضَعَ ثَوْبَهُ بَيْنَ فَخِذَيْهِ، فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى هَيْئَتِهِ، ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بِمِثْلِ هَذِهِ الْقِصَّةِ، ثُمَّ عَلِيٌّ، ثُمَّ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى هَيْئَتِهِ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ، فَاسْتَأْذَنَ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ، فَأَخَذَ ثَوْبَهُ فَتَجَلَّلَهُ، فَتَحَدَّثُوا، ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا , قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، جَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعَلِيٌّ وَسَائِرُ أَصْحَابِكَ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَى هَيْئَتِكَ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ، تَجَلَّلْتَ بِثَوْبِكَ! فَقَالَ: " أَلَا أَسْتَحْيِي مِمَّنْ تَسْتَحْيِي مِنْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ" .
