Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26734
It is narrated on the authority of Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Should we not mix a little bit of gold with musk?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Why don't you mix it with silver, then mix it with saffron, so that the silver becomes like gold."

حضرت ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ انہوں نے نبی ﷺ سے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! کیا ہم تھوڑا سا سونا لے کر اس میں مشک نہ ملا لیا کریں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا تم اسے چاندی کے ساتھ کیوں نہیں ملاتیں، پھر اسے زعفران کے ساتھ خلط ملط کرلیا کرو، جس سے وہ چاندی بھی سونے کی طرح ہوجائیگی۔
Hazrat Umm Salma raziallahu anha se marvi hai ke unhon ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se poocha Ya Rasul Allah! kya hum thoda sa sona lekar us mein mushk na mila liya karen? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum use chandi ke sath kyon nahin milati, phir use zaffran ke sath khalt malt kar liya karo, jis se woh chandi bhi sone ki tarah ho jaigi.
حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّقِّيُّ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خُصَيْفٌ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الذَّهَبِ يُرْبَطُ بِهِ الْمِسْكُ أَوْ تُرْبَطُ، قَالَ: " اجْعَلِيهِ فِضَّةً، وَصَفِّرِيهِ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ زَعْفَرَانٍ" .
