Hadith of Umm al-Fadl bint Abbas, the sister of Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with them)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26885
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas that he declared his intention not to fast on the day of Arafat in this way that a pomegranate was brought to him which he ate and said that I have been told by (my mother) Ummul Fazal that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not fast on the day of Arafat because she had come to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with milk which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drank.

حضرت ابن عباس کے حوالے سے مروی ہے کہ انہوں نے میدان عرفہ میں روزہ نہ رکھنے کا اظہار اس طرح کیا کہ ان کے پاس ایک انار لایا گیا جو انہوں نے کھالیا اور فرمایا کہ مجھے (میری والدہ) حضرت ام الفضل نے بتایا ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے عرفہ کے دن روزہ نہیں رکھا تھا کیونکہ وہ نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں دودھ لے کر حاضر ہوئی تھیں جسے نبی ﷺ نے نوش فرما لیا تھا۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas ke hawale se marvi hai ke unhon ne maidan Arafah mein roza na rakhne ka izhaar is tarah kiya ke un ke pass ek anar laya gaya jo unhon ne kha liya aur farmaya ke mujhe (meri walida) Hazrat Umm ul Fazal ne bataya hai ke Nabi (SAW) ne Arafah ke din roza nahi rakha tha kyunki woh Nabi (SAW) ki khidmat mein doodh le kar hazir hui thin jise Nabi (SAW) ne nosh farma liya tha.
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , أَنَّهُ أَفْطَرَ بِعَرَفَةَ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَفْطَرَ بِعَرَفَةَ، أَتَتْهُ بِلَبَنٍ، فَشَرِبَهُ" .
