The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2834
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, Sayyiduna 'Uqbah bin 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about a situation where his sister had vowed to go to the Holy Ka'bah on foot, but she had become weak. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Allah Almighty is not in need of your sister's vow. She should go riding and give a camel in charity."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عقبہ بن عامر رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ سے یہ مسئلہ پوچھا کہ ان کی بہن نے یہ منت مانی ہے کہ وہ پیدل بیت اللہ شریف جائے گی لیکن اب وہ کمزور ہو گئی ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ تمہاری بہن کی اس منت سے بےنیاز ہے، اسے چاہئے کہ سواری پر چلی جائے اور ایک اونٹ بطور ہدی کے لے جائے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai ki ek martaba Sayyidna Uqba bin Aamir Raziallahu Anhu ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se ye masla pucha ki unki behen ne ye mannat maani hai ki wo paidal Baitullah Shareef jayegi lekin ab wo kamzor ho gai hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Allah Ta'ala tumhari behen ki iss mannat se beniaz hai, use chahiye ki sawari par chali jaye aur ek unt ba tor hadi ke le jaye.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَعَفَّانُ ، المعنى، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ أُخْتَ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَحُجَّ مَاشِيَةً، فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ:" إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ نَذْرِ أُخْتِكَ، لِتَرْكَبْ، وَلْتُهْدِ بَدَنَةً".
