ومن مسند بني هاشم
The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2924
And he (the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was present in a gathering when Gabriel (peace be upon him) came and sat in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), placing his hands on his knees, and began to say: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, what is the definition of Islam?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The definition of Islam is that you surrender yourself to Allah, bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is One, He has no partner, and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and Messenger." He asked: "After doing this, will I be considered a Muslim?" He (the Prophet) said: "Yes! When you do this, you will be considered a Muslim." Then he said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, what is faith?" He said: "Faith is that you believe in Allah, the Day of Judgment, the angels, the books, the prophets, death and life after death, heaven and hell, reckoning, the balance of deeds, and destiny - whether it is good or bad - with complete certainty." He asked: "When I do this, will I be considered a believer?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! When you do this, you will be considered a believer." Then he said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, what is righteousness?" He (the Prophet) said: "Righteousness is that you perform every deed for the pleasure of Allah, as if you see Allah, and if you cannot visualize this, then keep in mind that Allah sees you." He (Gabriel) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, when will the Day of Judgment come?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Glory be to Allah! This is one of the five matters of the unseen, which no one knows except Allah. The Divine decree states: «﴿إِنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ﴾ [لقمان: 34] » “Verily, the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down rain, and He Who knows what is in the wombs. Nor does any person know what he will earn tomorrow, and nor does any person know in what land he will die. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.” However, if you wish, I can tell you some of its signs that will appear before it." He (Gabriel) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Please do tell me." He (the Prophet) said: "When you see that the slave girl gives birth to her mistress, and the shepherds of goats start boasting about their tall buildings to one another, and the naked, hungry, and needy people become chiefs, then these are among the signs and indications of the Day of Judgment." He (Gabriel) asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Who are these shepherds of goats, and the naked, hungry, and needy people?" He (the Prophet) said: "The Arabs."

اور فرمایا کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ ایک مجلس میں تشریف فرما تھے کہ حضرت جبرئیل علیہ السلام آ گئے اور نبی ﷺ کے سامنے اپنے ہاتھ ان کے گھٹنے پر رکھ کر بیٹھ گئے، اور کہنے لگے: یا رسول اللہ! یہ بتائیے کہ اسلام کی تعریف کیا ہے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اسلام کی تعریف یہ ہے کہ تم اپنے آپ کو اللہ کے حوالے کر دو، اس بات کی گواہی دو کہ اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں اور یہ کہ محمد ﷺ اس کے بندے اور رسول ہیں۔“ انہوں نے پوچھا: کیا یہ کام کرنے کے بعد میں مسلمان شمار ہوں گا؟ فرمایا: ”ہاں! جب تم یہ کام کر لو گے تو تم مسلمان شمار ہوگے۔“ پھر انہوں نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! مجھے یہ بتائیے کہ ایمان کیا ہے؟ فرمایا: ”ایمان یہ ہے کہ تم اللہ پر، آخرت کے دن، فرشتوں، کتاب، پیغمبروں، موت اور موت کے بعد کی زندگی، جنت و جہنم، حساب کتاب، میزان عمل اور تقدیر پر مکمل - خواہ وہ بھلائی کی ہو یا برائی کی - یقین رکھو۔“ انہوں نے پوچھا کہ کیا جب میں یہ کام کر لوں گا تو میں مومن شمار ہوں گا؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں! جب تم یہ کام کر لو گے تو تم مومن شمار ہو گے۔“ پھر انہوں نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! مجھے یہ بتائیے کہ احسان کیا چیز ہے؟ فرمایا: ”احسان یہ ہے کہ تم اللہ کی رضا کے لئے کوئی بھی عمل اس طرح کرو کہ گویا تم اللہ کو دیکھ رہے ہو، اگر یہ تصور نہیں کر سکتے تو یہی تصور کر لو کہ اللہ تمہیں دیکھ رہا ہے“، انہوں نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! یہ بتائیے کہ قیامت کب آئے گی؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”سبحان اللہ! یہ تو غیب کی ان پانچ چیزوں میں سے ہے جنہیں اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی نہیں جانتا، ارشاد ربانی ہے: «﴿إِنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ﴾ [لقمان: 34] » ”اللہ ہی کے پاس قیامت کا علم ہے، وہی بارش برساتا ہے، وہی جانتا ہے کہ ماں کے رحم میں کیا ہے؟ کسی نفس کو نہیں پتہ کہ وہ کل کیا کمائے گا اور کوئی شخص نہیں جانتا کہ وہ کس سر زمین میں مرے گا، بیشک اللہ ہر چیز کو جاننے والا باخبر ہے“، البتہ اگر تم چاہو تو میں تمہیں اس کی کچھ نشانیاں بتا دیتا ہوں جو اس سے پہلے رونما ہوں گی؟“ انہوں نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! ضرور بتائیے، فرمایا: ”جب تم دیکھو کہ لونڈی اپنی مالکن کو جنم دے رہی ہے، اور بکریاں چرانے والے بڑی بڑی عمارتوں پر ایک دوسرے سے فخر کرنے لگے ہیں، ننگے بھوکے اور محتاج لوگ سردار بن چکے ہیں تو یہ قیامت کی علامات اور نشانیوں میں سے ہے۔“ انہوں نے پوچھا: یا رسول اللہ! یہ بکریاں چرانے والے، ننگے، بھوکے اور محتاج لوگ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا: ”اہل عرب۔“
Aur farmaya keh aik martaba Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) aik majlis mein tashreef farma thay keh Hazrat Jibraeel (Alaihi Salam) aa gaye aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke samne apne hath un ke ghutne par rakh kar beth gaye, aur kehne lage: Ya Rasulullah! Yeh bataiye keh Islam ki tareef kya hai? Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: "Islam ki tareef yeh hai keh tum apne aap ko Allah ke hawale kar do, is baat ki gawahi do keh Allah ke ilawa koi mabood nahin, woh akela hai, is ka koi sharik nahin aur yeh keh Muhammad ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) is ke bande aur rasool hain." Unhon ne poocha: Kya yeh kaam karne ke baad mein Musalman shumar hounga? Farmaya: "Haan! Jab tum yeh kaam kar loge to tum Musalman shumar hoge." Phir unhon ne kaha: Ya Rasulullah! Mujhe yeh bataiye keh Imaan kya hai? Farmaya: "Imaan yeh hai keh tum Allah par, Aakhirat ke din, farishton, kitab, paighambaron, maut aur maut ke baad ki zindagi, Jannat-o-Jahannam, hisab kitab, mizan amal aur taqdeer par mukammal - chahe woh bhalai ki ho ya burai ki - yaqeen rakho." Unhon ne poocha keh kya jab mein yeh kaam kar lunga to mein momin shumar hounga? Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: "Haan! Jab tum yeh kaam kar loge to tum momin shumar ho jaoge." Phir unhon ne kaha keh Ya Rasulullah! Mujhe yeh bataiye keh ehsaan kya cheez hai? Farmaya: "Ehsaan yeh hai keh tum Allah ki raza ke liye koi bhi amal is tarah karo keh goya tum Allah ko dekh rahe ho, agar yeh tasavvur nahin kar sakte to yehi tasavvur kar lo keh Allah tumhein dekh raha hai", unhon ne kaha: Ya Rasulullah! Yeh bataiye keh Qayamat kab aayegi? Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: "Subhan Allah! Yeh to ghaib ki un paanch cheezon mein se hai jinhen Allah ke ilawa koi nahin janta, irshad rabbani hai: «﴿إِنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ﴾ [لقمان: 34] » "Allah hi ke paas Qayamat ka ilm hai, wohi barish barsata hai, wohi janta hai keh maan ke rahim mein kya hai? Kisi nafs ko nahin pata keh woh kal kya kamayega aur koi shakhs nahin janta keh woh kis sar zameen mein marega, beshak Allah har cheez ko jaannewala bakhabar hai", albatta agar tum chaho to mein tumhein is ki kuchh nishaniyan bata deta hun jo is se pehle ronuma hongi?" Unhon ne kaha: Ya Rasulullah! Zaroor bataiye, farmaya: "Jab tum dekho keh laundi apni malकिन ko janam de rahi hai, aur bakriyan charane wale badi badi imaraton par ek doosre se fakhr karne lage hain, nange bhooke aur mohtaj log sardar ban chuke hain to yeh Qayamat ki alamat aur nishaniyon mein se hai." Unhon ne poocha: Ya Rasulullah! Yeh bakriyan charane wale, nange, bhooke aur mohtaj log kaun hain? Farmaya: "Ahl Arab."
(حديث موقوف) وقَالَ: جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَجْلِسًا لَهُ، فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام، فَجَلَسَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَاضِعًا كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، حَدِّثْنِي مَا الْإِسْلَامُ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" الْإِسْلَامُ أَنْ تُسْلِمَ وَجْهَكَ لِلَّهِ، وَتَشْهَدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ"، قَالَ: فَإِذَا فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ فقد أَسلمتُ؟، قَالَ:" إِذَا فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ، فَقَدْ أَسْلَمْتَ". قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَحَدِّثْنِي مَا الْإِيمَانُ؟ قَالَ:" الْإِيمَانُ أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ بِاللَّهِ، وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ، وَالْكِتَابِ، وَالنَّبِيِّينَ، وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْمَوْتِ، وَبِالْحَيَاةِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ، وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، وَالْحِسَابِ، وَالْمِيزَانِ، وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ كُلِّهِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ"، قَالَ: فَإِذَا فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ آمَنْتُ؟ قَالَ: إِذَا فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ آمَنْتَ". قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، حَدِّثْنِي مَا الْإِحْسَانُ؟ قَالَ: رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" الْإِحْسَانُ أَنْ تَعْمَلَ لِلَّهِ كَأَنَّكَ تَرَاهُ، فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ لَمْ تَرَهُ، فَإِنَّهُ يَرَاكَ". قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَحَدِّثْنِي مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، فِي خَمْسٍ مِنَ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهُنَّ إِلَّا هُوَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ سورة لقمان آية 34، وَلَكِنْ إِنْ شِئْتَ حَدَّثْتُكَ بِمَعَالِمَ لَهَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ"، قَالَ: أَجَلْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَحَدِّثْنِي. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْأَمَةَ وَلَدَتْ رَبَّتَهَا أَوْ رَبَّهَا، وَرَأَيْتَ أَصْحَابَ الشَّاءِ تَطَاوَلُوا بِالْبُنْيَانِ، وَرَأَيْتَ الْحُفَاةَ الْجِيَاعَ الْعَالَةَ كَانُوا رُءُوسَ النَّاسِ، فَذَلِكَ مِنْ مَعَالِمِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا". قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَمَنْ أَصْحَابُ الشَّاءِ وَالْحُفَاةُ الْجِيَاعُ الْعَالَةُ؟ قَالَ:" الْعَرَبُ".
