The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2923
It has been narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a marriage proposal to a woman from his tribe, whose name was Sawda. Sawda had five or six children from her (deceased) husband. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked her, "What is preventing you (from accepting my proposal)?" She replied, "O Prophet of Allah! By Allah, nothing is preventing me from you. You are the most beloved of all creation to me. However, I don't feel good about the thought of these children crying and screaming before you morning and evening." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Is there any other reason?" She replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "May Allah have mercy on you. The best women who ride camels, sitting on the back, are the righteous women of Quraysh, who are most compassionate towards their children in their childhood and are protective of their husbands in their own matters." Benefit: This Sawda is another woman, not Ummul Mu'minin Sayyida Sawda bint Zam'a (may Allah be pleased with her).

سیدنا عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے اپنی قوم کی ایک خاتون کو - جن کا نام سودہ تھا - پیغام نکاح بھیجا، سودہ کے یہاں اس شوہر سے - جو فوت ہوگیا تھا - پانچ یا چھ بچے تھے، نبی ﷺ نے ان سے فرمایا کہ ”تمہیں مجھ سے کون سی چیز روکتی ہے؟“ انہوں نے کہا: اے اللہ کے نبی! واللہ! مجھے آپ سے کوئی چیز نہیں روکتی، آپ تو ساری مخلوق میں مجھے سب سے زیادہ محبوب ہیں، اصل میں مجھے یہ بات اچھی نہیں لگتی کہ یہ بچے صبح و شام آپ کے سرہانے روتے اور چیختے رہیں، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”کیا اس کے علاوہ بھی کوئی وجہ ہے؟“ انہوں نے عرض کیا: نہیں، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تم پر رحم کرے، وہ بہترین عورتیں جو اونٹوں پر پشت کی جانب بیٹھتی ہیں ان میں سب سے بہتر قریش کی نیک عورتیں ہیں جو بچپن میں اپنے بچوں کے لئے انتہائی شفیق اور اپنی ذات کے معاملے میں اپنے شوہر کی محافظ ہوتی ہیں۔“ فائدہ: یہ سودہ دوسری ہیں، ام المومنین سیدہ سودہ بنت زمعہ رضی اللہ عنہا نہیں ہیں۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apni qaum ki ek khatun ko - jin ka naam Sauda tha - paigham nikah bheja, Sauda ke yahan us shohar se - jo foot ho gaya tha - panch ya chhe bacche thay, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un se farmaya ki "tumhen mujh se kaun si cheez rokti hai?" Unhon ne kaha: aye Allah ke Nabi! Wallah! Mujhe aap se koi cheez nahin rokti, aap to sari makhlooq mein mujhe sab se zyada mahboob hain, asal mein mujhe ye baat achhi nahin lagti ki ye bacche subah o sham aap ke sirhane rote aur cheekhte rahen, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "kya is ke ilawa bhi koi wajah hai?" Unhon ne arz kiya: nahin, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Allah tum par raham kare, woh behtarin auraten jo oonton par pusht ki janib baithti hain un mein sab se behtar Quresh ki nek auraten hain jo bachpan mein apne bachchon ke liye intahai shafiq aur apni zaat ke mamle mein apne shohar ki muhafiz hoti hain." Faida: ye Sauda dusri hain, Umm ul Momineen Sayyida Sauda bint Zamah ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) nahin hain.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَهْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ قَوْمِهِ يُقَالُ لَهَا سَوْدَةُ، وَكَانَتْ مُصْبِيَةً، كَانَ لَهَا خَمْسَةُ صِبْيَةٍ أَوْ سِتَّةٌ، مِنْ بَعْلٍ لَهَا مَاتَ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَا يَمْنَعُكِ مِنِّي؟" قَالَتْ: وَاللَّهِ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، مَا يَمْنَعُنِي مِنْكَ أَنْ لَا تَكُونَ أَحَبَّ الْبَرِيَّةِ إِلَيَّ، وَلَكِنِّي أُكْرِمُكَ أَنْ يَضْغُوَ هَؤُلَاءِ الصِّبْيَةَ عِنْدَ رَأْسِكَ بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيَّةً. قَالَ:" فَهَلْ مَنَعَكِ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ؟" قَالَتْ: لَا وَاللَّهِ. قَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" يَرْحَمُكِ اللَّهُ، إِنَّ خَيْرَ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ أَعْجَازَ الْإِبِلِ صَالِحُ نِسَاءِ قُرَيْشٍ، أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى وَلَدٍ فِي صِغَرٍ، وَأَرْعَاهُ عَلَى بَعْلٍ بِذَاتِ يَدٍ".
