The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2963
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that once it so happened that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not issue a punishment for drinking alcohol. What happened was that a man became intoxicated after drinking alcohol and was stumbling on the road when another man met him and grabbed him to take him to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When they reached near the house of Sayyidina Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father), the man let go of his hand and ran away, entering the house of Sayyidina Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) and clinging to his back. When the people mentioned this incident to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he smiled and said, "Did he do that?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not give any order regarding him.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ایسا بھی ہوا تھا کہ نبی ﷺ نے شراب نوشی کی سزا جاری نہیں فرمائی، ہوا اس طرح کہ ایک آدمی شراب پی کر مدہوش ہو گیا، راستے میں وہ ادھر ادھر لڑھکتا چلا جا رہا تھا کہ ایک شخص اسے مل گیا اور اسے پکڑ کر نبی ﷺ کے پاس لے جانے لگا، جب وہ سیدنا عباس رضی اللہ عنہ کے گھر کے قریب ہوا تو وہ شخص اپنا ہاتھ چھڑا کر بھاگا اور سیدنا عباس رضی اللہ عنہ کے گھر میں گھس کر پیچھے سے جا کر ان سے چمٹ گیا، لوگوں نے نبی ﷺ سے یہ واقعہ ذکر کیا تو نبی ﷺ ہنس پڑے اور فرمایا کہ ”اس نے ایسا کیا ہے؟“ پھر نبی ﷺ نے اس کے متلعق کوئی حکم نہیں دیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai keh aik martaba aisa bhi hua tha keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sharaab noshi ki saza jari nahi farmaai, hua iss tarah keh aik aadmi sharaab pee kar madhosh ho gaya, raaste mein woh idhar udhar larkhta chala ja raha tha keh aik shakhs use mil gaya aur use pakar kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas le jane laga, jab woh Sayyidna Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke ghar ke qareeb hua toh woh shakhs apna haath chhuda kar bhaga aur Sayyidna Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke ghar mein ghus kar peeche se ja kar un se chimat gaya, logon ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se yeh waqeya zikar kiya toh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hans pade aur farmaya keh "Uss ne aisa kiya hai?" phir Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne uss ke mutalliq koi hukm nahi diya.
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رُكَانَةَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَقِتْ فِي الْخَمْرِ حَدًّا، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: شَرِبَ رَجُلٌ، فَسَكِرَ، فَلُقِيَ يَمِيلُ فِي فَجٍّ، فَانْطُلِقَ بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا حَاذَى بِدَارِ عَبَّاسٍ نْفَلَتَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَى عَبَّاسٍ، فَالْتَزَمَهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ، فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَضَحِكَ، وَقَالَ:" قَدْ فَعَلَهَا؟!" ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْمُرْهُمْ فِيهِ بِشَيْءٍ.
