The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2989
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that one day when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) woke up in the morning, he found that the army had no water. So, a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! The army has no water." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him, "Do you have a little water?" He said, "Yes!" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Bring it to me." After a while, he came with a vessel containing very little water. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his fingers on the mouth of the vessel and opened them. Immediately, springs of water gushed forth from the fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), "Announce to the people to come and take this blessed water."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک دن نبی ﷺ جب صبح کے وقت بیدار ہوئے تو پتہ چلا کہ فوج کے پاس پانی نہیں ہے، چنانچہ ایک آدمی نے آ کر عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! فوج کے پاس پانی نہیں ہے، نبی ﷺ نے اس سے پوچھا کہ ”تمہارے پاس تھوڑا سا پانی ہے؟“ اس نے کہا: جی ہاں! فرمایا: ”وہ میرے پاس لے آؤ“، تھوڑی دیر میں وہ ایک برتن لے آیا جس میں بالکل تھوڑا سا پانی تھا، نبی ﷺ نے اس برتن کے منہ پر اپنی انگلیاں رکھیں اور انہیں کھول دیا، اسی وقت نبی ﷺ کی انگلیوں سے چشمے ابل پڑے، نبی ﷺ نے سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کو حکم دیا کہ ”لوگوں میں اعلان کر دو مبارک پانی آ کر لے جائیں۔“
Sayyidna Ibne Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik din Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab subah ke waqt bedar hue to pata chala ki fauj ke pas pani nahin hai, chunancha aik aadmi ne aa kar arz kiya: Ya Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! Fauj ke pas pani nahin hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne us se pucha ki ”Tumhare pas thoda sa pani hai?“ Usne kaha: Ji han! Farmaya: ”Woh mere pas le aao“, thodi der mein woh aik bartan le aaya jis mein bilkul thoda sa pani tha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne us bartan ke munh par apni ungliyan rakhin aur unhen khol diya, usi waqt Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki ungliyon se chashme ubal pade, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Sayyidna Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko hukum diya ki ”Logon mein elaan kar do mubarak pani aa kar le jayen.“.
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُدَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ، وَلَيْسَ فِي الْعَسْكَرِ مَاءٌ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، لَيْسَ فِي الْعَسْكَرِ مَاءٌ. قَالَ:" هَلْ عِنْدَكَ شَيْءٌ؟" قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ:" فَأْتِنِي بِهِ"، فَأَتَاهُ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ قَلِيلٍ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصَابِعَهُ عَلَى فَمِ الْإِنَاءِ، وَفَتَحَ أَصَابِعَهُ، قَالَ: فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ عُيُونٌ، وَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا، فَقَالَ:" نَادِ فِي النَّاسِ الْوَضُوءَ الْمُبَارَكَ".
