The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2999
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to revise the Holy Quran with Jibraeel (peace be upon him) every year. In the year of the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) demise, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) revised it twice, and the final recitation was with Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ ہر سال جبرئیل امین علیہ السلام کے ساتھ قرآن کریم کا دور کیا کرتے تھے، جس سال آپ ﷺ کا وصال ہوا اس میں نبی ﷺ نے دو مرتبہ دور فرمایا اور حتمی قراءت سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کی تھی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) har saal Jibraeel Ameen Alaihi As Salaam ke sath Quran Kareem ka daur kiya karte thay, jis saal Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka wisal hua us mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne do martaba daur farmaya aur hatmi qiraat Sayyidna Abdullah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ki thi.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْرِضُ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى جِبْرِيلَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً، فَلَمَّا كَانَتْ السَّنَةُ الَّتِي قُبِضَ فِيهَا، عَرَضَهُ عَلَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، فَكَانَتْ قِرَاءَةُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ آخِرَ الْقِرَاءَةِ".
