The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3026
It is narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a goat belonging to Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with her) died. She submitted in the court of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Such and such goat has died." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Why didn't you keep its skin?" She said, "Should I keep the skin of a dead goat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Allah Almighty has said: 'Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] prohibited to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine..."' (6:145). Now, if you tan it and benefit from it, would you eat it?" So, Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her) sent someone to skin it, and she had it tanned and made into a water-skin, until it wore out while in her possession.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ام المومنین سیدہ سودہ بنت زمعہ رضی اللہ عنہا کی ایک بکری مر گئی، انہوں نے بارگاہ رسالت میں عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! فلاں بکری مر گئی، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”تم نے اس کی کھال کیوں نہ رکھ لی؟“ انہوں نے عرض کیا کہ ایک مرداربکری کی کھال رکھتی؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ نے تو یہ فرمایا ہے کہ «﴿قُلْ لَا أَجِدُ فِي مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَوْ دَمًا مَسْفُوحًا أَوْ لَحْمَ خِنْزِيرٍ﴾ [الأنعام: 145] » ”اے نبی! آپ فرما دیجئے کہ میرے پاس جو وحی بھیجی جاتی ہے، میں اس میں کوئی چیز ایسی نہیں پاتا جو کسی کھانے والے پر حرام ہو، سوائے اس کے کہ وہ مردار ہو، یا بہتا ہوا خون ہو، یا خنزیر کا گوشت ہو۔“ اب اگر تم اسے دباغت دے کر اس سے فائدہ اٹھا لو تو تم اسے کھاؤ گے تو نہیں؟“ چنانچہ سیدہ سودہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کسی کو بھیج کر اس کی کھال اتروا لی اور اسے دباغت دے کر اس کا مشکیزہ بنا لیا، یہاں تک کہ وہ ان کے پاس پھٹ گیا۔
Sayyeda Ibn Abbas razi Allah anhuma se marvi hai ki ek martaba Umm ul Momineen Sayyeda Saudah bint Zam'ah razi Allah anha ki ek bakri mar gayi, unhon ne bargah risalat mein arz kiya: Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! Fulan bakri mar gayi, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Tum ne iski khal kyun nahi rakh li?" Unhon ne arz kiya ki ek murdar bakri ki khal rakhti? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Allah ta'ala ne to ye farmaya hai ki " Qul la ajidu fi ma oohiya ilayya muharramun ala ta'imin yat'amuhu illa an yakoona mayitatan aw daman masfuhan aw lahma khinzir [Al-An'am: 145] "Aye Nabi! Aap farma dijiye ki mere pass jo wahi bheji jati hai, mein is mein koi cheez aisi nahi pata jo kisi khane wale par haram ho, siwaye iske ki woh murdar ho, ya bahta hua khoon ho, ya khazir ka gosht ho." Ab agar tum ise dibaghat de kar is se faidah utha lo to tum ise khaoge to nahi?" Chunanche Sayyeda Saudah razi Allah anha ne kisi ko bhej kar iski khal utarwa li aur ise dibaghat de kar iska mashkiza bana liya, yahan tak ki woh unke pass phat gaya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: مَاتَتْ شَاةٌ لِسَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَاتَتْ فُلَانَةُ يَعْنِي الشَّاةَ. فَقَالَ:" فَلَوْلَا أَخَذْتُمْ مَسْكَهَا"، فَقَالَتْ: نَأْخُذُ مَسْكَ شَاةٍ قَدْ مَاتَتْ؟! فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّمَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قُلْ لا أَجِدُ فِي مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُ إِلا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَوْ دَمًا مَسْفُوحًا أَوْ لَحْمَ خِنْزِيرٍ سورة الأنعام آية 145، فَإِنَّكُمْ لَا تَطْعَمُونَهُ إِنْ تَدْبُغُوهُ فَتَنْتَفِعُوا بِهِ" فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهَا، فَسَلَخَتْ مَسْكَهَا، فَدَبَغَتْهُ، فَأَخَذَتْ مِنْهُ قِرْبَةً حَتَّى تَخَرَّقَتْ عِنْدَهَا.
