The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3031
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There is no 'Adwa (no contagious disease conveyed without Allah's permission). nor is there any bad omen (from birds), nor is there any Hamah (a type of lizard), nor is there any Safar (bad omen in the month of Safar, the 2nd month of the Islamic calendar)." A man said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! The camels get infected by scabies and one diseased camel (having scabies) may infect all (camels of the herd)." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Then who transmitted the disease to the first one?"

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”بیماری متعدی ہونے کا نظریہ صحیح نہیں، بدشگونی کی کوئی حیثیت نہیں ہے، صفر کا مہینہ یا الو کے منحوس ہونے کی کوئی حقیقت نہیں ہے۔“ ایک آدمی نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! سو اونٹوں میں ایک خارش زدہ اونٹ شامل ہو کر ان سب کو خارش زدہ کر دیتا ہے (اور آپ کہتے ہیں کہ بیماری متعدی نہیں ہوتی؟) نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”یہ بتاؤ! اس پہلے اونٹ کو خارش میں کس نے مبتلا کیا؟“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: “Bimari mutdi hone ka nazariya sahih nahi, badshuguni ki koi haisiyat nahi hai, Safar ka mahina ya ulu ke manhoos hone ki koi haqiqat nahi hai.” Ek aadmi ne arz kiya: Ya Rasul Allah! Sau oonton mein ek kharish zada unt shamil ho kar un sab ko kharish zada kar deta hai (aur aap kahte hain ki bimari mutdi nahi hoti?) Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Yeh batao! Is pehle unt ko kharish mein kis ne mubtala kiya?”.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عن النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" لَا طِيَرَةَ وَلَا عَدْوَى، وَلَا هَامَةَ وَلَا صَفَرَ"، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا لَنَأْخُذُ الشَّاةَ الْجَرْبَاءَ، فَنَطْرَحُهَا فِي الْغَنَمِ، فَتَجْرَبُ! قَالَ:" فَمَنْ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ".
