The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3032
Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), that once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was at the house of Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). I placed the water for his ablution at night. Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "O Messenger of Allah! This water has been placed for you by Abdullah bin Abbas." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "O Allah! Grant him understanding of the religion and teach him the interpretation of the Book."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ سیدہ میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے گھر میں تھے، میں نے رات کے وقت ان کے لئے وضو کا پانی رکھا، سیدہ میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بتایا کہ یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! یہ پانی آپ کے لئے عبداللہ بن عباس نے رکھا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اے اللہ! اسے دین کی سمجھ عطا فرما اور کتاب کی تاویل و تفسیر سمجھا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Sayyida Maymunah ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ke ghar mein thay, maine raat ke waqt un ke liye wuzu ka pani rakha, Sayyida Maymunah ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ne bataya ki Ya Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! Yeh pani aap ke liye Abdullah bin Abbas ne rakha hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Aye Allah! Ise deen ki samajh ata farma aur kitab ki taweel o tafseer samjha.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ فِي بَيْتِ مَيْمُونَةَ، فَوَضَعْتُ لَهُ وَضُوءًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَتْ مَيْمُونَةُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَضَعَ لَكَ هَذَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ. فَقَالَ:" اللَّهُمَّ فَقِّهُّ فِي الدِّينِ، وَعَلِّمْهُ التَّأْوِيلَ".
