The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3089
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out for the conquest of Makkah, it was the month of Ramadan. He was accompanied by ten thousand Muslims, and eight and a half years had passed since he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had come to Madinah. At the time of departure, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and all the Muslims were fasting, but when they reached the place of Kadid, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) broke his fast.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب فتح مکہ کے لئے روانہ ہوئے تو یہ رمضان کا مہینہ تھا، ہمراہی میں دس ہزار مسلمان تھے اور مدینہ منورہ آئے ہوئے آپ ﷺ کو ساڑھے آٹھ سال گزر چکے تھے، روانگی کے وقت آپ ﷺ اور تمام مسلمان روزے سے تھے، لیکن جب مقام کدید میں پہنچے تو آپ ﷺ نے روزہ توڑ دیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab Fath Makkah ke liye rawana huye to yeh Ramzan ka mahina tha hamrahi mein das hazar Musalman thay aur Madina Munawwara aaye huye aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko sadhe aath saal guzar chuke thay rawangi ke waqt aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aur tamam Musalman rozedar se thay lekin jab maqam Kadid mein pahunche to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne roza tod diya
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : فَأَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ فِي رَمَضَانَ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ مَعَهُ عَشْرَةُ آلَافٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَذَلِكَ عَلَى رَأْسِ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ وَنِصْفٍ مِنْ مَقْدَمِهِ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَسَارَ بِمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ، يَصُومُ وَيَصُومُونَ، حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ، وَهُوَ مَا بَيْنَ عُسْفَانَ وَقُدَيْدٍ، أَفْطَرَ وَأَفْطَرَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مَعَهُ، فَلَمْ يَصُمْ".
