The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3095
'Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to consider it disliked to eat unripe dates, and he used to say: 'The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the delegation of Banu 'Abdul Qais from (eating) "muzah," and I fear that it may refer to unripe dates.'"

عکرمہ رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما صرف کچی کھجور کھانے کو اچھا نہیں سمجھتے تھے اور فرماتے تھے کہ نبی ﷺ نے بنو عبدالقیس کے وفد کو «مُزَّاءِ» سے منع کیا ہے، مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ کہیں اس سے مراد کچی کھجور ہی نہ ہو۔
Akarma rahmatullah alaih kahte hain ke sayyidna Ibn Abbas razi Allah anhuma sirf kachi khajoor khane ko achha nahin samjhte the aur farmate the ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Banu Abdalqais ke wafd ko muzza se mana kiya hai mujhe andesha hai ke kahin is se murad kachi khajoor hi na ho.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ نَبِيذَ الْبُسْرِ وَحْدَهُ، وَقَالَ" نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَبْدَ الْقَيْسِ عَنِ الْمُزَّاءِ، فَأَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ الْبُسْرُ وَحْدَهُ".
